Pre-order link for North America, which is at the same time the place to download the bundle. The release date for USA and Canada is 25th September 2012

Pre-order link for the rest of the world - the release date for most countries is 24th September 2012

Pre-order link for Japan and nearby places - the release date for Japan is 12th September 2012

There is also  download of a free high-resolution track named Walls and Doors. It's a .wav file, so it might take a bit longer for you. All you need is a valid e-mail address. Check your inbox after you've submitted it and your download link should be there for you to click on.

An excerpt of what he says about the song:

This song, recorded in September 2010, marks the point at which I began combining 60s and early 70s production styles with modern electronic production styles. This song was also the first time I successfully balanced pop music with abstract forms of music. This song showed me that the pop parts of myself and the more adventurous parts of myself could blend without one compromising the scope of the other.

Please, when quoting his blog entries on various websites, include a link to the original and don't quote the entire post. Be kind, just like you should be to any other fellow blogger.

You can discuss Walls and Doors and post your questions and issues regarding the pre-order in this thread or in the below post on the unofficial fan site:

...and someone who can help you will see that. :)

If there are any issues with the website itself, please, message me and describe your issues. Saying that it doesn't work isn't really helpful. Include screencaps if possible and tell me what browser and device you were using. :)
  • Help the director and the team behind "Bob and the Monster"! (John, Josh, Anthony…

    2 Mar 2011, 02:20 by RustlingRagazza

Most of you will remember that nearly two years ago, it was made known that the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize-winning producer Keirda Bahruth is doing a documentary on Bob Forrest - the iconic frontman of Thelonious Monster and The Bicycle Thief, nowadays a solo artist and counselor of the Celebrity Rehab show. I'm more than glad to inform you the film has been completed and the trailer is available for you to watch! John is, of course, featured in it; talking about Bob Forrest who, to remind those who don't know, discovered his talents.

    Here's the official synopsis:
Six years in the making, this documentary film follows outspoken indie-rock hero Bob Forrest, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counselors in the US today. BOB AND THE MONSTER crafts contemporary footage, animation and compelling interviews with archival performances and personal videos from Bob's past to reveal the complex layers of this troubled, but hopeful soul. Testimony from his peers, including Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis and Flea add texture, but it's the depth of Bob's music, interwoven throughout the film, that illuminates this unforgettable and inspirational story.

The film is currently being finished and set to see the light of the daz at the SXSW on the 11th of March.

Now here's the deal: the production team needs your help to get all the work done and fund the remaining costs needed to cover the film's online promotion, music rights, archival clearances, sound mix, et cetera. The author, protagonist and the team behind the film are offering some VERY attractive awards for all the bigger donations. For example, if you donate $35 or more, upon its release you will get a DVD signed by Keirda Bahruth and Bob Forrest himself; and if you donate $75 or more, the DVD will also be signed by Josh Klinghoffer, and you'll also get a hand-screened film poster, with all of the three signatures. Isn't that awesome? Please, click below to donate and, if you have done so, reply to this post, so it'd be known. ^_^

  • The Empyrean, el nuevo disco de Frusciante

    27 Dec 2008, 03:22 by Xeipe

"The Empyrean”.

También tocan Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr y The New Dimension Singers. Estoy muy contento con él y lo estuve escuchando mucho por la experiencia psicodélica que ofrece. Debería ser tocado lo más fuerte posible y es apto para un living oscuro tarde a la noche.”

    Este disco contiene 10 temas:

    1. Before The Beginning

    2. Song To The Siren (de Tim Buckley)

    3. Unreachable

    4. God

    5. Dark/Light

    6. Heaven

    7. Enough Of Me

    8. Central

    9. One More Of Me

    10. After The Ending

  • "Helical" and Jim O'Rourke's "Eureka"

    11 May 2007, 17:31 by frujo

Among other John's interviews I found the one with Evan Christian. It is pretty nice one as any with John may be. In addition to everything else he mentions Jim O'Rourke. I found that interesting, cuz he mostly mentions musicians of the past, rarely linking his listeners to the contemporary artists (at least in the articles I've read).

I gave Jim a try. I chose Eureka as soon as it was the album whose single John was talking about. Well, that really is amazing music. Very special and unusual. Music with no evil and no envy. Pure "easy listening" that is, indeed. Album doesn't sound experimental and provides nice, but at the same time "non-overpolished" performance from Jim.

Also it seems, that it was very inspirational for John. The interview was taken during Shadows Collide With People era and the next his album The Will to Death features the song called Helical that sounds very similar to the title track of O'Rourke's album. No, I don't mean that John ripped it off. I mean the mood and style. The same patience, the same lyrical (even a bit nostalgetic) melody. I think that everyone who likes one of these two will like the other. I advice all the John fan's to check Jim's music!

  • Lack of Scrobbling - away from home in West Virginia

    3 May 2007, 01:29 by Serpent_axed

I just thought I would mention some of the stuff I am playing when scrobbling is not an option. I am digging the new Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, Clutch -From Beale Street to Oblivion and Carnavas I saw Dinosaur Jr. on Letterman and they rocked! Dave even mentioned liking their performance. Ten seems to resurface in my mind occasionally as I write this. The staccato keyboard/drum part especially. I picked up Sex and A Beard Of Starsin the discount rack at Borders - two for 11 bucks, not bad. This stuff will help get me through Annual Training in WV along with some craft brewed ale I brought along. A couple of Discs I am anticpating are: Ataxia - Ataxia II and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez - Se Dice Bisonte, No Bufalo
  • My Anniversary - a recap

    22 Aug 2006, 23:27 by Serpent_axed

I will be trying to explain how this place has altered my listening habits and perhaps shed a little light on the events that may have had an effect on my charts here. I guess it will be exactly one year here on Thursday. I have seen others give an overview or My review like my friend Phototropic and appreciate the insight

I have been a member of for exactly a year now and it seems appropriate for a journal. I joined at the end of my unemployment from a grocery warehouse. I was into bulletin boards like’s and Bungle fever which is where I first heard of last fm. eviltoastman mentioned it there and I decided to create a profile. I immediately enjoyed the ease of use and functionality. I met Ben Hayes or hayso after scanning the Ween group and we decided to trade mixes. I started work at a metal shop in the meantime and fakehand was a new friend I made at that time along with Phototropic who was my next-door neighbor for much of this year here.

I was introduced to a lot of great music through groups and individuals like wim, R3000, RaF93,NHA, Pittsingerand of course my brother tenderbranson69, fakehand, hayso,Phototropic, and norecess just to name a few. I grew to like styles I had little to no interest in while continuing to like , , and styles. I have utilized the radio and tagging for my obsessive compulsive listening behaviour. I tend to let my player on continually now. I didn’t always do this, but I like coming home to random music.and I used to be able to monitor from work on breaks and lunch. I have started 5 groups beginning with Three toed sloths and those who eat gourmet cheese. I started a group in tribute to my cousin's band Fountain of Tears and had a few turned over to me since starting them. I like the community here. I enjoy discussing music with people of different cultures and finding out about bands that users I know are in, such as The Sleepless Immigrants, Fine Cotton Affair, Dave Demuro, Zloty Dawai, Trudgernaut, Travel by Sea, Krystian Dell and Mobius.

I started recording my own sounds under the name Serpent_axed and it is really just for my own amusement, but I have always been interested in making recordings. I feel as though the last year as a member and subscriber has opened me up to new styles of music and increased my awareness of what it means to be eclectic. I appreciate everyone who has advised me in any way and appreciate all recommendations from my friends and neighbors such as:
Midlake, Jazkamer, Albert Ayler, Jason Molina, and TalkdemonicBoris, Kinski, Ruins, Big Business, Pink and Brown etc. Thanks for reading, I am going to list the top artist by week here because I occasionally view other profiles this way. I don’t have a full 52 weeks since I joined, but I will compile based on the info available.
