  • Apskaft Presents: They Might Be Giants

    In this thread

    http://www.last.fm/group/Apskaft/forum/72534/_/673372

we started to talk about it: Jacktehripper had the idea, a few people said they were in (me included), but then we slowly passed to further ideas so things slowly vanished in a limbo.

    Now we start for real!

    I'm in as well.

  • Ok, I go out with the dog, when I come back I substitute in "ongoing projects" Musique concrete button with a new one for TMBG record cover.

    UPDATE: done.

  • Just call me doctor wormmmmmm!

  • I probably won't have time to make new track but the cover of "Your Racist Friend" which I did for "Apskaft Against Fascism" could be included. I might be able to do a remix.

Maybe we don't have to disclose what songs we will be covering? The album would be more of a surprise that way.

  • yeah, we can do this i reckon. Dont know what song though. too many to choose from!

Honestly I don't have an opinion on it, I just added song names to try the colour tags. :D I'm quite playful.

  • As it's not a collaborative record, I think you can simply send me tracks, no need to use dropbox.

  • I don't think anyone in Drn Drn has even the most basic TMBG knowledge, but I'll take a listen, and maybe we'll cover some song. Or maybe we could cover something without listening to it by using tabs only.

  • Try John Henry - in a couple of tracks there's Tony Maimone (ex Pere Ubu) on bass.

a sample of TMBG, which I'm gonna cover myself

  • In my opinion if two or more people cover same song is nothing bad.

    I finished first cover, btw.

  • i should probably take part in this.
i'll see if i can bother to cook something up, but my music making tools are quite limited at the moment.

  • i want in on this too! i think i know what i want to cover.

  • I was wrong! I did have time to make a track specifically for this album. Hox, please PM me your email so I can send you the track. I've done "Dallas (Trees)" - from TMBG's current Texas tour.

I have just been informed that The Asthmatics (Sweden) will join in with this project. The responsible member would be MrClaw.

  • We could set the deadline on march 15.

  • Hey, I think we'll pass this time. We've been working on our own songs recently and I think we'll keep on that for a while.

Would it be OK for everyone if we moved the deadline to March 31st?
