The record that sounds the most like the 1920s?

  • The record that sounds the most like the 1920s?

I was just curious what recording you think captures the mood, spirit or zeitgeist of the "roaring" '20s? Typically, Paul Whiteman's "The Charleston" is used as background music in documentaries about the 1920s.

Offhand, I can only think of one record that sounds more '20-ish than "The Charleston"--"Let's Misbehave" by Irving Aaronson And His Commanders. I first heard "Let's Misbehave" years ago in Woody Allen's movie "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)", and the song made an instant impression on me.

What record do you think really sounds like the '20s?
