The number of plugins to search for artists on other sites became a bit to much (they all wanted to use the artist name on the profile page) and I found an excellent replacement for it: Last.fm Linker. It adds buttons to those sites in the sidebar that (when clicked) searches on those sites for that artist (also works with the sidebar-to-top plugin). You can edit the list of sites by going to the Greasemonkey's Manage User Scripts > Options (next to the script) > Edit this user script. Open it with either notepad or Notepad++. To see an example just check out my review of it for some very nice sources.

If you've got the time be sure to check out la Boutique Fantastique (tags: alternative, cinematic, classical crossover, melancholic, world beat, yann tiersen, Holland). I guess they're a rolandkirk/min-thom-artist but very accessible. The related artists are not really the same type of music since they got featured on Luisterpaal+Labtones.

btocher made a very good suggestion: Bandcamp Scrobbler it makes recommendations from Bandcamp based on your Last.fm history, then scrobbles the tracks you play. Or you can enter an artist name and get related artists that are on Bandcamp.

Found this new app today: Clementine (win/nix/mac) "Listen to internet radio from Spotify (premium only, Grooveshark (some roaming account-level), Last.fm (subscriber-only), SomaFM, Magnatune, Jamendo, SKY.fm and Digitally Imported, and Icecast." It's not exactly my thing but others may find a better use.

Only if you have a premium account on Spotify, you also need a paid account if you want it to resolve tracks on Grooveshark (a bit weird since you don't need one if you're using GrooveWalrus). The Dilandau-resolver is comparable to the Skreemr-resolver they used previously. I've removed the Youtube-resolver since it plays the video on top of what you're using, very annoying when I'm working with Excel. Tomahawk works best if you're connected to a bunch of likeminded people with a lot of music buut these are hard to find.

Interesting music mash-up: there are a number of music subreddits on Reddit.com with a number of youtube-videos per genre (like unhearedof). Now someone has made a cool interface per genre for easy playback: unhearedof, metal and jazz (just edit the URL for the genre|subreddit you want). It's a low-risk way of checking new artists (if you want to scrobble certain tracks|artists just watch them directly on Youtube) or it could be used to start a new quality subreddit like Under2000Listeners.

Forgot to say: when there's auto-correct on the artist-name (the url contains a "no-redirect") then the extension can't find the info so won't display anything.
