Wednesday was special. I played multiple tracks by Billie The Vision And The Dancers as I was so excited that they were gigging in Derby on Friday (I saw them!).

So, the best old song was 'I'm Pablo' by BTVATD. (Off their 2005 album.)

And the best new song was 'Groovy' by BTVATD. (Off their 2008 album.)

If you like lyrics like Jonathan Richman's or indiepop that is happy and sad at the same time, I think you should probably welcome Billie into your life. And hey - it's not like you even have to risk any money: you can download all of their albums for free from their own website.

I pay for mine, either via Emusic or buying the CDs because I want this fabulous band to carry on making some of the best pop music I've ever heard. To find such beautiful lyrics married with equally golden music is a rare treat.

    On Wednesday, I played:

    Beirut - Elephant Gun
    otograph - melodie

    Blitzen Trapper

Wooo - what a packed night! And loads of great requests, old and new!

Speaking of which, the best new track was 'Gold For Bread' by Blitzen Trapper. It's off their very poppy new album, 'Furr,' and it was released last week. Check it out for singalong loveliness!
    Gary Numan

The best old track was 'Observer' by Gary Numan. I was a teenage Numanoid and it's pretty obvious that his synthiness has stuck with me since then in the music I make myself. Where would synthpop, electro and all their modern derivatives be without Numan's huge influence? 'Observer' is just perfect.

    This is what you heard:

    canyonsofstatic - 1:17
    Modcam - Grain Season
    Cyne - Excite Me
    Orion - Cash 4 Survival
Cold War Kids - Something Is Not Right With Me
Travis Stewart - Machine Drum Remix
    Jape - Floating (Original)
Kano - I Like It (Prod. By Davinche)
The Presets - This Boy's In Love

Hear Japan is a digital music download store focused on Japanese music. I was invited to give the site a try by the company’s owner.

If you’ve always wanted to use iTunes Japan, or are tired of iTunes poor quality files, then Hear Japan might be the best choice to make in the future as the site expands and grows.

Downloading files is very user friendly. I experienced no problems with downloading the high quality MP3 files.

This is also a legitimate company (unlike other J-MP3 sites) with full support from JASRAC. Purchasing music from Hear Japan will allow you to support your favorite artists while obtaining your music fast and easily.
