I close my eyes & its 1970s, and I'm listening to this Roundabout on the turntable, with rain coming down outside Seattle's University of Washington (of course); perfect (again). I open my eyes and I'm an old man, and Chris Squire has passed on -
Duh. Of course they influenced alot of other groups. You're comment would be like me saying "I'm a singer of 30 years, but John Anderson is pretty good...Pa-leeaase! AND Chris Squire is ..oh..I don't know... a bassist of only about 60 years ,give or take,so yes his basslines are kick-ass & needs no affirmation.
Deezer509, I think it's fair to say Yes influenced a good degree of artists back then to one degree or another (and yes, it's a KICK ASS bassline--and I say that as an almost 30 year bassist)... It's so sad to hear the bulk of today's music which is all computerized, without the least bit of soul, or heart behind them.
