  • A year in music - Days 17 & 18

    18 jan. 2015, 9h56m par Hollow0ne

This is my top 365 tracks (as of January 3rd 2015, according to Last.FM charts). That means a song per day.

Day 17, (shared) 346. position: Guns N' Roses - Pretty Tied Up (from the album Use Your Illusion II)

Cool ranch dressing! Pretty Tied Up is a straightforward rock, one of the few songs on UYI-albums that are closer to Appetite for Destruction-kinda rock than the epics that fill most of the double albums.

I put a video of a live version, just because you just can't get enough Axl Rose in his tiny, red shorts.

Day 18, (shared) 346. position: Tool - Jambi (from the album 10,000 Days)

I was introduced to Tool by a friend in the early 2000. So when they released a new album in 2006 I was pretty psyched. And Tool delivered.

Album starts off pretty aggressively and somewhat straightforward (or as straightforward as Tool can be) and metal-y with Vicarious and Jambi. …
  • Year-End Top Tracks worldwide (Unofficial, based on chart performance)

    31 déc. 2012, 17h50m par RadioKaKa

As far as I know,'s Year-End charts have never ever listed the Top Tracks of each year, so I tried to compile the calendar-year recaps according to the weekly Top Tracks worldwide chart.
The Year-End charts utilize an inverse point system with tracks collecting points mainly based on rank for each week they were on the chart, plus more or less adjustments according to the listeners of that week, if necessary. In a word, when a track hits No. 1, it earns the greatest point, while earns the least with weeks at No. 25. Listeners registered without entering the weekly top 25 aren't considered in these standings. Unofficial Year-End Top Tracks of 2012
Rank - Peak (Weeks) - Weeks in the top 10 - Artist – Track (Description)
    01. 1 (29) 46 Gotye – Somebody That I Used to Know
    02. 3 (3) 40 M83 – Midnight City
    03. 2 (20) 26 Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe
    04. 1 (1) 41 Lana Del Rey – Video Games

These lists highlight significant achievements based on the weekly Top Tracks worldwide chart, spanning from the inception week ending 20 Feb 2005 through the week ending 29 Mar 2015. You can also check the real-time updated list of number-one tracks on Wikipedia.

For the same track with “different” titles (for example, explicit or clean versions, or any others) charting seperately on the Top Tracks chart, which were often caused by online music stores or streaming services, such as iTunes Store, Spotify, etc. its listeners were combined together as much as possible. And certainly, this would lead to more or less changes of the weekly rankings, even altering the number-one sometimes.

    4 fév. 2011, 7h09m par musavvir

Which also happens to be one of my most favourite tracks.

  • The Soundtrack Of My Life

    3 jui. 2010, 10h30m par Fitzyli

I ruthlessly plagiarize my friend's idea to list the soundtrack of my (rather short) life. I try to list few 'milestone' songs and artists from the beginning of my life to this day, which are somehow been meaningful to me along the road. I try to be as chronologiсal as I can and remember:

Britney Spears - Oops! I did it Again This was probably the first album I ever had. Quite embarrassing tho, I think I was a bit girlboy back then. Or something. Horrible, I even remember myself lying in bed and crying while listening to this.

System of a Down - Prisong Song - This was the first piece of actual music I liked. My big brother used to listen to SOAD all the time, so I was exposed for serious brainwash. Though, I think I really liked them. If I remember right, Toxicity was also the first actual album I listened thorough with thought, and respected the skills of the musicians. I've started to respect the lyrics later also.

Weezer - Maladroit - This was also my big brother's fault. …
