  • This song is part of an album that must be played in it's entirety, it just flows. I will miss not hearing the song,"The other way of Stopping" after it ends. It is like only reading part of a book. Reverb City.....
  • As good as The Dream of the Blue Tirtles is, the original version is WAY more evocative and brilliant than than on Sting's first album. Some things are better be left untouched...
  • best version. amazing song.
  • Meanwhile, Sting's solo version is insufferably cheesy, what with its stupid shuffle beat, idiotically eighties keyboards, female backing vocals, and distinct lack of anything creepy.
  • I like the sparse production and arrangement. Andy's creepy guitar noises in the background work really well.
  • Wow. This version is terrible. Slow and plodding, it sounds like a demo.
  • Woke up in my clothes again this morning.
  • Lead bass.
  • Copeland is the driver here!
  • this one is groovier than the sting version for sure. And I'm an equal Police and Sting fan.
  • Sting's version is good, but this version is the best for me.
  • The Police version is the best IMHO. Stewart's drumming is such an integral part of the song...
  • I have to agree that Sting's is much better, though I'm more of a Police fan in many ways.
  • Anyone know of any other tracks/bands that sound like The Police's version of this song? Thanks
  • Sting's version is much better. [2]
  • wrong, this be polices number 1 tune imo
  • i would disagree... this original track sounds more >>how can you explain<< than the later one... :) an all time favourite of mine by the police. and yes, it is indeed sad, but not "just sad" and i think that's the way it is.
  • I tried to like it....i hate it... Sting's version is much better. This one is just sad.
  • The bass is what drives this song.
