Chestbumping because you heard a song before some other people did is one of the most sad and pathetic things I can think of. Congratulations. You pretentious children and your stupid hipster bollocks. Reading your posts almost made me ashamed I've been a "The National" fan since "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers". To everyone else in this shoutbox, I apologize on the behalf of those morons.
I agree that it's kind of a shame this song was created for a video game, even one as good as Portal 2. I'm glad I listened to the song before I found it in and associated it with the game. It's just far too beautiful to be that song from that one game. One of the National's best.
A shame that this song was made for a video game. There, I said it. I love Portal 2 like no other video game in the past decade... but this song is...different. It encompasses more than the themes of that video game. It's about everything we do when our stupid soul falls in love, it's about everything we are when idealism overtakes us, it's about the world in a failed attempt to make the world a better place. I'm deeply in love with this song.
