I disagree with the comments that 'Diamond Hoo Ha' is their most disappointing album. Granted, it's far from their very best, but I think it has been unjustly overlooked. I agree about its slow-burn nature, as it took me a long while to get into it, and I'll admit I thought it sounded rushed and uninspired upon first listen. After the low-brow style of 'Road To Rouen' it sounded terribly brash, which I found difficult to get into, having grown used to RTR's subdued quality. But I discovered with both albums that giving them a chance was to reap its rewards - Supergrass really have proved to be a consistently excellent UK band; I for one am extremely happy they're still around doing their thing.
I'm wondering if it's "bait me" or "bite me", too. Depending on how Gaz chose to say it, I can see it as both. This album was a slow burn for me, but once it clicked it was intense. They've never put a foot wrong imo, it's been amazing to see them grow over the last 10+ years.
