Behind the image was ignorance and fear. You hide behind his public machine, still follow the same old scheme
Ai esse som eh uma delicia
song speaks volumes, still relevant in today's culture
It was a thrill to see PiL in Miami in 1992. I'll have to check the set list to see if they played this song. I do remember that John Lydon mooned us. Big Audio Dynamite II played next.
good Johnny !!! :):)
Cool as HELL
my all time favourite song, it has influenced me aloooooooooot
much better than sex pistols
My entrance, my own creation, my grand finale, my goodbye!
One of his best!
It's not a game of monopoly.
. . ..great
T̝̥̱̖̲̎̆͒̄ͬ̈̚Ŏ̫̘̳̙̳̫͆ͣ̆̉P̬̞̮͇͖̖͉̳͉ͧͬ̑ͯͣ̓̊̄̔ ̲̰̼͙͇ͤ̈̓̎ͯ of the pile. TOTP even haha.....best 3 mins of vinyl bar none (⌐■_■)
Perfect. What else is there to say? Ab-so-bloody-lutely perfect.
Ironic that this would be one of the very few great songs he would write after leaving the magnificent pistols.
love it - looking fwd to their gig in Leicester August
Glad these guys are back x
Two sides to every story.
sorry Angelight2012 - I'm hearing the correct song (and lovin' it!)
...you got what you wnated, the public image belongs to me, my entrance, my own creation, my grand finale, my goodbye.....goodbye.........
....anyone remember this came out with a newspaper wrapped around it? I must have sold mine somewhere down the line.......GRR! ....lol
Loved the video to this - Jah Wobble sits all by his bad self in the corner with his bass.
Pretty Vacant runs this close.
Dare I say this song is better than anything the Pistols ever put out? And I love the Sex Pistols.
This track got me into bass playing!!!!!! xx
saw them recently....... WOW....
This was the first song Jr played at the recent Dublin Gig
which I have to say was spiritual and very emotional goodbye
the public imaaaage
As good 2day as it was when it was released,a feckin GEM
The public image is Contry life butter what a come down
for someone who never played bass before, wobble fucking owns this track from the very beginning.
this song is epic and historical. not only it is rightfully considered as the birthsong of post-punk, but also is a big FUCK YOU for the fake DIY imposters that have been already spawned back in 1978
John Lydon's vocals are just unbelievable in this track. It's almost microtonal.
Great as PIL were, this makes you wish they'd made more records with this energy
Dare I say this song is better than anything the Pistols ever put out? And I love the Sex Pistols.
always could listen to this band
Crazy i saw them in 1990 they opened with this song.....a few songs later johnny got mad (someone threw a bottle at him) and they left the stage....Flesh for Lulu opened.
this song heralded the end of punk and the beginning of post-punk. this point is debatable.
Still remember the first time I heard this and buying the single in the newspaper sleeve. Goosebumps!
Still sounds extraordinary every time I play it. Keith Levene's guitar here was as inspirational to me as John McKay.
Galvanizing. In my view, this song is as good as anything that the Pistols ever did. It was brilliantly used in the 1996 film, Basquiat (which is great as well).
