Popol Vuh is responsible for the creation of some of the greatest music of all time, IMO. The soundtracks for the Werner Herzog films are particularly good, then of course there's the absolutely fantastic Hosianna Mantra and In den Garten Pharaos. Everything from the late 60s through til the 80s represents the peak of Popol Vuh/Florian Fricke.
We spoke about Popol Vuh's album "In Den Garten Pharaos" this week in our continuing krautrock marathon. You should have a bit of a listen to it, even if you have the slightest interest in any of the previously mentioned words: http://lastpodcastshow.com/2013/05/07/episode-92b-monomania-demo-tapes-krautrock-die-wunder-jahre-1970-1975-popol-vuh-in-den-garten-pharaos/
We are a Turkish folk-duo called The Hogweed And The Aderyn and a Boutique Press called Wounded Wolf. You can listen the preview from here: http://www.woundedwolfpress.co.uk/-the-hogweed-and-the-aderyn
Would like to hear, if you guys had to chose one Popol Vuh track, what would it be? I would chose between Morgengruß, Brüder des Schattens or the opening of Hosianna Mantra. What track(s) move you like no other?
