Recently I've come up with this new way of listening to my music. And I like to call it 'theme listening'.
For theme listening, you'll need:
- A Last.fm profile
- A lot of songs (let's set a minimum of 2.000)
- Music playing software with the function to search through song titles and creating playlists (such as Winamp)
And here's how it goes: depending on your day, the weather, your mood or whatever else, one subject pops up in your head. 'Smile' when you're happy, 'Sleep' when you're tired, 'Monday' when it's monday, for instance.
You activate the search option on your music player (with all your songs in the list). Type in the subject and see which songs come up with that term in the title. Create a playlist of those songs and there you go: a whole playlist of happy songs, sleepy tracks or monday-y tunes.
Yesterday I selected on 'November' and got a really nice list of 7 or 8 songs to welcome the new month.
