  • the new album is a true masterpiece!
  • it's like a carnival left their barker behind in a small Southern town and he came across an accordion
  • Can we all just agree that the man is no longer, in any way at all, definitely not alt-country? Or Americana? Even Johnny doesn't think he is. The dude is being mis-sold.
  • Not sure why I like this, but I do
  • sick lyrics ♥
  • Jim White's spiritual friend, but much more concrete!
  • New album "No Regrets" is very good. Love the concept as well.
  • Try a gig in Belfast Johnny
  • I first heard this band at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown, WV-the music club I used to work at. I was working the door (checking ID's and collecting cash) when they started to play in the main room. I knew within 30 seconds that I wanted to be in there watching and learning instead of staring at a wall. That feeling occurred a mere handful of times in the 12 years (and 100's of bands I saw) I worked there. You will never see them play the same song the same way twice; Johnny works his songs over and over through time like a painter adding layers to a neverending canvas. One of the most memorable shows I've seen was in a bowling alley in Baltimore-the eerie red lighting combined with the haunting, yet angelic, singing of Kim Sherwood-Caso made for a fantastic show. I'm not one to label music or musicians, but if most of his stuff is not "country" enough for you, check out his first album. It has all the classic "country" themes and moods with Johnny's special blend of the macabre.
  • Here are some pictures of the second night of his shows in berlin:
