If the sacheting of gentlemen
Gives you grievance now and then
What's needed are some memories of plaining lakes
Those plaining lakes will surely calm you down

  • Who cares about Belle & Sebastian? What I want to know is if Nickelback like this song.
  • I wonder if Belle & Sebastian liked this song
  • It's been a while since lyrics have bothered me in a "what does it mean" sense: But this song... There's a law for everything. And for Elephants that sing to keep the cows that agriculture won't allow. Is this some sort of reference to Hinduism? Hindu sacred cows? I don't know if Ganesha was known to sing... I don't know, the mention of religion at Mr. Cale's door, but Hindus aren't the type to knock on your door, at least here in the States. I don't know... and then what's with the chorus?! I'm pretty obssessed with this album, front to cover perfect.
  • Is this one of the most beautiful songs ever? I think so [2]
  • The chorus only seems ridiculous because life itself is ridiculous
  • Nice song but the chorus borders on the ridiculous for me [2]
  • yes, lovely......
  • My first listen...lovely
  • Is this one of the most beautiful songs ever? I think so, I have loved the whole album for ever. The production on the tambourine is worth the price of admission on its own
