Day 30, (shared) 327. position: Iron Maiden - Como Estais Amigos (from the album Virtual XI)
Blaze Bayley had impossible task to fill Bruce Dickinson's shoes after he left Iron Maiden for a solo career. Although Blaze did his best, it wasn't enough. His voice just wasn't fit for Steve Harris' and, therefore, Maiden's style. Maiden released two albums with Bayley, The X Factor (which is underrated IMO) and Virtual XI. Both were surpassed by Dickinson's solo albums, which were released during that same time period (Accident Of Birth and The Chemical Wedding).
But like I said, Bayley has a good voice and his solo albums (The Man Who Would Not Die for example) is great. He just needs music that complement his vocal range and style. And Maiden wasn't quite on the spot.
Nevertheless they did manage to pull off some awesome tunes. …
