27 déc. 2011, 15h00m par xspeedxodysseyxAnd so to the traditional review of all things musical, for the year of 2011.
I can’t really say that there was anything special about this year, musically speaking. Probably the biggest event of interest was A Fine Frenzy taking over as my most scrobbled artist. Perennial #1 Harry Gregson-Williams was finally dethroned after a very quiet year for film scores on my charts. Despite no new album this year (huge sad face) I still racked up over 1800 plays for Ms. Sudol; a huge testament to how much I appreciate each and every one of her remarkable songs. I am anticipating next year’s release so much that I fear I may actually be placing too high an expectation on it. The handover of supremacy was actually a highly staged event on my part, as I also pumped out enough Dido tracks to simultaneously change the guard from M/F/M/F to F/M/F/M (Hans Zimmer dropping to #4). With both these ladies releasing new albums next year, I feel the female dominance will only grow - and I guess I’m quite alright with that…

I think it was during the summer holiday when I realised that certain albums have been in my library for more than 10 years (or about this long). I used to listen to the radio a lot when I was younger, but I grew tired of it and started gathering my own collection. Not much left from how it used to look like those 10 years ago, but surprisingly, the things that stayed are still my favourite music. Or it's just nostalgia. Think what you must. And have fun, because you're going to see a grown-up ten-year-old here.
I tried to sort this according to when it entered my life. Even though I'm quite good with past dates, I don't have to be right, but I did my best.
I have to start long ago with the music associated with my earliest childhood memories. They’re connected to this album:
Vangelis – 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992)

Delete any duplicates, count up the number of entries on your list and this will give you some idea of how eclectic your listening habits are. A score of 9 represents an extremely unvaried musical taste while a 160 represents an extremely varied one.

8 août 2011, 12h30m par narniancreatureMy favorite, beloved composer is and probably will remain Harry Gregson - Williams . There is no option to someone else made that my emotions raged more than when I'm listening to the soundtrack of "The Chronicles of Narnia." There is no such option. Besides he's a kind, full of joy and fantasy person that you just want to hug, to talk to him and laugh.
I love to listen to this track in winter nights.
Vous y voir!
