The more I listen to Daft Punk's score for this film, the more it stands out as one of the finest film scores I've heard in a long time. Speaking as a John Williams/Jerry Goldsmith junkie, that's really saying something.
@MONKEYFACEDOG Thar's because it is. Legacy was NOT a happy movie in the slightest, and makes the first film taste like tonic water. The protagonists from the first film are dead or broken past recognition (And in the case of Lora and Yori...who knows?) . It's on the next generation to clean up a mess inherited from their predecessors.
A hard-won victory, with no one really getting a happy ending. But there are two on a motorcycle, riding into a sunrise, carrying little more but fragile hope and a daunting "Legacy" with them. As the first movie ended with the world fading to dark, saying how much we have in common with the digital world, so the second end with a new day and a silent testimony to how different we truly are.
