    Intro
Let's go!

    Sab 25 Abr – Mutant Fest 2015

  • Concerts witnessed in MMXIV

    12 fév. 2015, 0h14m par haadeus

I will list here the concerts I attended during 2014, and once the list is ready I will add some recollections and moods according to my limited memory. I am writing this in February 2015, and it is interesting to notice how much memories twist, change time and place and how much is thrown in the sewers of the mind. Oftentimes, when purchasing a ticket, one tends to think "well, it's a lot, but I'll see the band(s) x on top of the band I'm really into" but you'll just end up socialising with people, drinking, smoking, gazing at the Moon while the bands play, or just downright forget after a month that you even saw the band x play.

    Køpi-Hausfest: Ruidosa Inmundicia
at Køpi, Berlin on Friday, February 21st

Køpi-Hausfest is a yearly week-long celebration of the existence of the oldest house project in Berlin, and a major den of all things punk and DIY. On this particular date I recall seeing some German hardcore and punk bands play on all three stages, but the only band I went to see on purpose was Ruidosa Inmundicia. …

It is once again time to list some stuff. It is also once again time for me to wonder why the hell I always leave making this list to the last couple of weeks before the year ends. One would think that I'd learn something from a mistake I have now made for five years in a row... oh well. I recently went through my lists from 2012 and 2013, and I am surprised by how well they still hold up in 2014 (in the lists from 2009 to 2011 things start to get a bit funky). I guess my taste hasn't changed that radically over the last three or so years in terms of disliking things I have liked in the past, but the scale of my listening habits has definitely grown in terms of new interests. As always, this year's list is very much all over the place, but that is how I like it. This is a true representation of the type of stuff that I enjoy listening to on a daily basis. None of the albums listed made it because I thought they deserved to be included, but because I wanted them to be included.

    Diary #3

    Rant - Top 8

I decided to share a few thoughts about my current heterogeneous top 8 on last.fm. The first thing I should mention is that this is actually my second account (the first one was called Greater_Art), and it is newer than the old one. On the previous account, my top 3 was Lake of Tears, Therion and Celtic Frost (can't remember the precise order). Enough about the past, let's jump into the bands.

    1. The Alan Parsons Project (APP)

For a long time I knew of APP only due to the reference in Austin Powers. The spy who shagged me. While listening to some prog rock on Spotify, I saw APP as a related artist, and decided to give it a shot. When I have no prior information about a band, I usually begin either with the first album, or with a best of, or with the album title which seems to be the most interesting. That time I went with what I thought was the first one, I Robot (1977), but as it turns out, the APP debut was Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976), and I Robot was the sophomore effort. …
