Agreed on those points sir. On a side note after repeated listens to WALA I'm definitely impressed. Focused, good pacing, minimalist and strong throughout without feeling boring. All instruments are fit very well without sounding forced in. Reminds me of Mono at points. Could be described as a little samey here and there but I quite like it.

I'm glad you see my point. Furthermore I share your tendency to instrumental bands. I think it's natural to evolve ones taste in music and instrumental bands are the next step to that evolution. In my opinion too much emphasis on vocals, or even a vocalist at all, restrict a bands creativity. However I don't mind a vocalist, if it fit's to the band/song.

Fair enough man. Personally I feel like when it came to the post-metal sound, Tides and Omega Massif held my attention and were much heavier/creative than Giant which I just didn't find as interesting/unique when considering bands like Isis or Rosetta exist (who I'm not that fond of either to be honest). If they were what held yours then there's not much I can say that will convince you and I deal with that. I'm more partial to completely instrumental atmospheric bands in general which is why I used those two as examples :)

For me songs like "Horned and blind" and "Stories" are the pure essence of Post Metal, because of their perfect balance between lyrics and instrumental passages. I think that Braveyoung never gave themselves the chance to evoke their Post Metal. "Only" two years after "Horned and blind" they released "Bloom" and their Post Metal influences were nearly gone. And what goes for Tides (I'll stick to them, because I aren't familiar with Omega Massive): They're music is totally different from Braveyoung's Giant and I think there could have been a life next to each other on the top of Post Metal. We all have different opinions of what could have been and how it is now, but I understand and respect yours.

I just don't agree Behemyr. As Giant they were alright, but Tides and Omega Massif had them beat no question when it came to the massive post-metal/atmospheric sludge sound. As Braveyoung (and especially with their new full length) they have found a much better niche for themselves I feel. Just giving We Are Lonely Animals a spin and it's quite something, much different/cohesive compared to Giant or their Bloom EP. I'd say it's a perfect cross between the huge post-metal sound and the more light post-rock moments.
