Arnold Schönberg est un compositeur et théoricien autrichien né le 13 septembre 1874 à Vienne, et mort le 13 juillet 1951 à Los Angeles (États-Unis). Son influence sur la musique du xxe siècle a été considérable. L'orthographe de son nom a été anglicisée en Schoenberg, qui est d'ailleurs l'orthographe retenue comme forme savante à valeur internationale (selon la Bibliothèque nationale de France).   • Contemporary classical music can be understood as belonging to the period that started in the mid-1970s to early 1990s with the retreat of modernism.[1] However, the term may also be employed in a broader sense to refer to all post-1945 modern musical forms.[2] Now that's from Wikipedia, not the most reliable source, but I'm pretty sure that's the accepted definition/period. Also, if you look deeper into that, the genre that "Contemporary Classical" replaced was "Modern Classical." So essentially, genres were stupid LONG before rock and roll came along.
