17 nov. 2007, 13h58m par amodelofcontrolThe Guardian have begun today their 1000 albums to hear before you die, which will continue over the course of the next week. And while it is an interesting list, it is a broadly mainstream list.
So, perhaps it is time to redress the balance. I want suggestions for 100 alternative albums you should hear before you die (and perhaps more importantly, why). I'm thinking anything from across the realms of metal, goth, industrial, electronics, alternative rock/indie, and any of the variations thereof.
Put your suggestions in the comments (as many as you like), and when we have enough I'll put them all together in one long post, perhaps on my website, or even here.
I'll put one suggestion from me: Front 242's Front by Front. Why? Simply the best EBM album of all, it was ahead of it's time when released and nearly 20 years on no-one has bettered it yet. Oh, and having probably the most enduring goth/industrial dancefloor tracks of all on it (<i>Headhunter</i>, of course) doesn't hurt, either.

12 oct. 2006, 4h18m par imdacti've grown to appreciate Neil Young so much, been listening to mainly After the Gold Rush mainly but also Zuma and bits of Harvest, and they all rule extremely hard. i want to listen to more, but i guess i've been staying away from listening to him too much because i've also been reading his biography, shakey, so i don't want to listen to his music while i read his book.
i've learned to appreciate Pablo Honey, which is actually pretty awesome, though when i was younger i didn't like it at all. speaking of albums i've grown on are Amusement Parks on Fire, which i used to think sucked so hard i actually deleted it from my computer, which means i really didnt like it, considering how space is not yet a big issue.
i've returned to De-Loused in the Comatorium, Meddle, and Turn on the Bright Lights, which are all fantastic but de-loused is very hard to follow, and ends up getting kind of derivative, though i do see Return to Forever's influence now.

24 jan. 2006, 23h23m par Sylviofurtadostrangely addicting album, with some great progressive sound and instrumentals... looks like a really long song divided into 9 parts that fits one into another very well...
it´s not my kind of music if you look at my charts, but in the past months i´ve been listening this experimental sound more and more... is it a changing coming to my life? :)
