On february 17 I became father of my daughter Joni.
The birth of a child brings inspiration. For musicians it is the most obvious thing to make music with it. So here you see a live-looping experiment, with my first steps in video editing and with contributions by my girlfriend and my daughter.
On my bandcamp page you can find a free download link for the track:
Here are a couple of new HealeyIsland tracks - material that has been recorded during the process of recording the soon to be finished third HealeyIsland album On Ponzi Bridge. These are Window View and Un-democracy. I hope you enjoy them - they are free to download.
Lots of candles, streamers and jelly all mixed in together to make a jolly nice party for Dandelion Radio in the occasion of its fifth birthday. Thanks to the kindness and benevolence of Jay Stansfield and Ooti Skulf we have two tracks specially recorded to mark this momentous event. Also our good friend Ed Askew pops in to sing us a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday dandelion radio, complete with warm greetings.
Cake, cats, birds and dogs. Such is the unmistakable theme running through this month’s compact, hour long show. With idiosyncratic and wonderful tracks from birdsong artists Lafi, Supertalented and A.K.A. Gelbart, and other superb net label offerings from Entertainment for the Braindead, Cake on Cake and La Rainbow Toy Orchestra, this show is certainly short but sweet. There are also exclusive sneaky peaky previews of material from forthcoming releases by myheadisaballoon and The Horn the Hunt. That plus a track from the stable of that ever excellent label, De Stijl Records, in the shape of the new release from Wet Hair. Look out also for tracks from the dark sleazy electro populists Das Fluff, Dutch barn stormers Labasheeda and the folk songstress Dad’s Daughter. No sessions this month.
..every track is a page in my life (might be in yours to). I’m talking about ups and downs, love and losses and what it takes to love sometimes. I’m very proud of every single track. We are on a same boat if you feel the same. This is my most private compilation.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the bands, who took part in this compilation and shared theirs outstanding music with Ultra Vague Recordings followers all around the globe.

I don't have huge knowledge of Ninja Tune music - in general it's all very good, if it might somewhat appeal to the musically snobbish....
Hexstatic stand out above the crowd.., enough to spur me to write this article... I read from their last.fm page that they were 'electro' which put me off - but think not cheesy hands in your air stuff - more towards the better end of Daft Punk, with some nice mellow breaks added. It has elements of funk with some lovely samples...
This album, Master View, flows nicely and is very listenable. I'd say the music would work on a dancefloor but to me it's more geared to chilling in the home...By the time you reach 'Perfect Bird' on the album you might be expecting an album of trip-hop like breaks and electro... This track really stands out, however, and in my eyes is the best song on the album... At this point, I decided to take note of Hexstatic as artists...The vocals on Perfect Bird are sweet... Lovely chilled melodies and certainly, from a dj's point of view, a very playable track, especially with summer coming up.
I'd give the album a solid 8.5/10 ... It is a good piece of music and I endorse it. Go out and buy it!
Like the Dyle (Dijle) meandering through a broad spectrum of landscapes. Dylebient tries to let you float into a wide and interesting range of ambient-electronic artists.
In this first edition we try to investigate if the concept is strong enough to make it an annual happening. The main concept behind the venue is that all the profits (if there are any) will be equally divided between the artists.
