KORN BRINGS BACK “THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR” ANNOUNCES 2007 LINE-UP VIA THE FIRST VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE ON VIRTUAL MTV.COM
KORN AND EVANESCENCE TO CO-HEADLINE THIS YEAR’S FAMILY VALUES TOUR
THE LINE-UP WILL INCLUDE ATREYU, FLYLEAF, HELLYEAH AND TRIVIUM; ADDITIONAL BANDS AND SURPRISES TO BE ANNOUNCED TOUR KICKS OFF ON JULY 20, 2007
March 26, 2007 – Los Angeles, CA – One of the greatest brands in summer rock festivals is back! Multi-platinum, Grammy-winning hard rock bands KORN and EVANESCENCE will co-headline the best and most distinctive FAMILY VALUES TOUR line-up yet. Co-headliners KORN and EVANESCENCE are proud to be sharing the traveling festival’s main stage with Atreyu, Flyleaf, HELLYEAH (featuring members of Pantera and Mudvayne), and Trivium.
In another first for Korn, the offical announcement was first made last night direct to fans on VirtualMTV.com on the world's first Virtual Press Conference. Fans got the inside tour lineup information directly from the artists, as they went online to interact with computer generated avatars of the members of Korn, and members of Atreyu, along with Vinnie Paul from HELLYEAH in a virtual world made and provided by MTV. The tour launches on July 20 in St. Louis, MO. Concert producer Live Nation will once again be on board to bring fans the multi-city trek through North America and, for the second year in a row, the cheapest lawn ticket of the summer. Additional bands and details will be announced shortly.
KORN, along with management company The Firm created and headlined THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR in 1998 and last year’s outing catapulted the festival back into the spotlight of summer tours with fans turning out in record numbers (over 400,000 tickets sold) for the hard hitting line-up and the fan friendly ticket prices. KORN was voted “Best Live Band” of 2006 by the readers of Revolver Magazine and THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR re-established itself as a summer mainstay for rock fans for years to come.
“The fans really made last year’s tour incredible, so we just had to do it again this year” says KORN front man JONATHAN DAVIS. “We could not be more excited about this year’s lineup!”
”We are very psyched to see some of our favorite bands and getting all of our fans together for this amazing festival”, says EVANESCENCE frontwoman AMY LEE.
Through Korn’s unique partnership with Live Nations 2006’s The FAMILY VALUES TOUR featured $9.99 lawn tickets and value-priced seating at every outdoor amphitheatre stop. This year, THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR will once again feature the cheapest lawn ticket of the summer.
“It’s important to us that we do all we can to have a great line-up and make this tour affordable,” says DAVIS. "Live music should be something that all of us should be able to share together. The success of last year’s tour proves we can make a difference. I believe it has already had an effect on a lot of other tours, and that's cool!!”

Korn is currently in the studio recording their second album for their ground-breaking deal with Virgin Records, currently set for release on July 24th.
Evanescence just released their third single, "Sweet Sacrifice," from the multi-platinum The Open Door, just in time for this summer's festival. Last week the new video received over 1 million votes on MTV's Battle of the Videos. Currently on tour in South America, where they performed in front of more than 75,000 in Buenos Aires, Amy Lee said, "We can't wait to play our new show for our fans back home with all these other great bands!"
Newcomers Neurosonic and Droid have been added to round out the bill to eight bands with more surprises to come including news of special activities for this year's village.
Korn, along with management company The Firm, created The Family Values Tour in 1998 with a bill headlined by KORN and performances from Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit and Orgy. 1999's line-up featured headliners Limp Bizkit, along with Filter, The Crystal Method, Primus, Staind, Mobb Deep, Ja Rule, and Method Man & Redman. KORN also made surprise appearances at a few dates. Beyond the live touring aspect, the debut outing of The Family Values Tour spawned a gold-certified live album and platinum-certified companion home video. This was followed in spring 2000 with the second live disc and long-form home video. The 2001 trek featured Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Staind, Static-X and Deadsy. Family Values continued in the summer of 2006 with Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Dir en grey on the main stage resulting in another live CD and DVD making it one of the most consistently successful tour franchise in music history.
FAMILY VALUES TOUR ADDS SECOND STAGE
The Family Values Tour has teamed up with "Guitar Hero" to sponsor a second stage this year with an additional five bands making a total of 13 acts on the tour. A likely pairing, rock's biggest outing including co-headliners Korn and Evanescence, Atreyu, Flyleaf, HellYeah, and Trivium partnered with the ultimate rock star experience, "Guitar Hero," will foster hot new comers Five Finger Death Punch, InVitro, Twin Method and others.
The second stage will also include the largest national competition for the nation's hottest electronic game, "Guitar Hero" to date. A "face-off" competition between eight "Guitar Hero II" finalists in each market, winners from earlier Radio Station sponsored events will play "Guitar Hero II" on stage between sets and compete for an autographed Korn guitar, band access passes and a chance to play Jonathan Davis backstage after the show.
Korn have been longstanding fans of the game with Jonathan Davis going public on his obsession with "Guitar Hero" in the Wall Street Journal in November 2006. Davis admitted to spending as much time on the tour bus playing the game as he did on stage performing! Said Davis, "This is the hottest game in the country and we are stoked to have them on the tour."
