my spangly flash weekly artist chart

the transparent gif artifact on the weekly artist chart always goaded me slightly, mostly just because i'm incredibly anal about niggly little things like that. but, thanks to the audioscrobbler web services, i was able to develop my own chart in flash :D

here it is: scroll down to the 'music' section on the left.

features:
apart from the neat little scrolling thing it does (i developed a static one too; i just thought it would look pretty)...

- it loads the weekly artist chart and picks out the top ten entries, the seperates them as you can see with artist and play count.

- if the artist name is too long, it trims it down and appends a little '...' to the end.

- clicking on an artist will take you to the associated page on last.fm

known issues:

- it doesn't support a lot of foreign language characters, particularly chinese/japanese (although this is due to a limitation in flash) and in names like 'KoЯn' (that backwards R always kicks up dickens)

and so far, that's it. over the next few days i want to make it a public release, with different styles to choose from and *possibly* skinning options. or i might just make a lot of them in different colours, since i forsee that being *so* much easier.

any feedback appreciated. apart from anything insulting. or bug reports. or constructive criticism. or anything 'helpful'. adulation is okay, though.

I like it. Only thing is Flash isn't supported here, but it's too tall for here anyway. So, good job. :)
