This thread is interesting each and every time.

"Once a lumberjack was about to chop down a tree, when he noticed a heart carved on it, with two names inside. Putting away his axe, he sawed down the tree instead. The point of that story escapes me, although six months later the lumberjack was fined for teaching a dwarf Roman numerals." -Woody Allen

    Definately Coldplay

  • Every band I don't like, apart from the ones everyone says are shit, obviously, because they're not rated at all, obviously.

  • What the fuck? Boards of Canada are awesome! It's an acquired taste, really. So do me a favor and aquire it real quick so I can leave. I haven't got all day bro.

And to think I liked this forum a lot :(

Never get into an argument with an idiot, he will take you down to his level and beat you with experience.
  • I think U2 has filled a roll. Over the years america has had one rock band that straddled the secular/christian gap so well, that no one could really figure out exactly what they were. They're ambiguity was there power.

Now, I could be very, very, wrong, but I'd say that U2 was one of the first bands to really pull this off. They came, and they stuck their feet in both camps, and they stayed in power. Regardless of whether or not U2 is a 'good' band (it is impossible to tell as this is merely a point of opinion) they are certainly not underrated. I believe they sit exactly where they belong.

Now, Fifty Cent, on the other hand, is a man who has done absolutely nothing for his genre, he and his compatriots have flooded the hip hop airwaves for too long with the same sounding work over and over again. Whether or not his work is 'good' is impossible to say, but whether his work has had any constructive impact on society and culture is not.

  • I once saw a commercial for a greatest hits collection wherein Billie Joe Armstrong was dubbed "the new face of punk rock" or words to that effect. So needless to say, Green Day comes to mind immediately.

But that's too obvious. How about... Death Cab for Cutie?

I personally think ham goes better in a roll than U2.

Although to be fair I don't know what U2 taste like. They may be delicious.

Rumor has it Bono tastes like chicken.

Adam Clayton, on the other hand, tastes like stream-caught catfish. This I know from experience

    Ninja!

  • I met Adam Clayton once, in a Washington DC supermarket, where he recommended that I purchase lime marmalade. Don't ever take food advice from U2.
