Haha, thank you, good sirs. There's just not enough obscure, classical-based 'humour' on these forums :P.

5 Favourite adverts of the Modern era (2000AD onwards)

Was just one of my random thoughts during the day, what great adverts have been made recently...ever since the undisputed champion, Guinness's Surfer video,

    has there been any contenders?

    1.

    Levi Roots 'Reggae Reggae Sauce'

    Alt. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZZHgwyqsnE

Hands down the best, puts a smile on my face and is generally better than the program showing on TV. Levi Roots was one of the biggest success stories of BBC's Dragon's Den.

Animation by Aardman (Creature Comforts, Wallace and Gromit, Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video animation)

    2.

Lucozade Advert 2011, Song: "Simply Unstoppable"

It was in the cinema a lot, it is a well crafted advert I've got to say.

    Tinie Tempah London rapper

Katie Taylor Champion Irish Boxer and Footballer

    Travis Barker American Drummer/entrepreneur

    3.

Guinness Ireland "Even at the Home of the Black Stuff, We're dreaming of a White One."

Guinness successfully countered Coca Cola's 'Holiday's are coming' advert in Ireland with this. Music composed by Kevin Sargent.

    4.

BMW - See How It Feels

This was also heavily circulated in the cinema

The commercial is soundtracked by a modern re-working of Beethoven's 9th Symphony produced by UNKLE.

    5.

Old Spice "I'm on a horse"

I'm going to cheat and add one more, because ...well it's boobs:

Club Orange Advert - The Best 'Bits' in the World

The next time I go to the cinema it's just to see this advert ^

  • My top 5 people in the world:

    1. Me
    2. Myself
    3. The guy in the bathroom mirror
    4. My shadow
    5. My reflections

    You get the idea.

You can't cut the throat of every cocksucker whose character it would improve.
