I'm getting a tattoo. I'm designing it right now, but it incorporates a stanza of the John Updike poem Spirit of '76. It really means a lot to me. And I'd like to have it written on my body where I can read it when I'm old and senile. :)

Yeah I probably would on the back of my shoulder or one of my biceps so I could cover it for job interviews and what not.

I wouldn't take a tattoo. I think that piece of art (image, painting) looks always better on paper than human skin.

Now I'm gonna get all the motorcycle-gangs after me.

I have several tattoos, a scorpion on my stomach, cross on my ankle, wings on my back, blossoms on my stomach, ribs, and back, blossom on my foot, birds on my chest.

I'm already planning a koi on my ribs, an a phoenix that runs down my ribs and leg.

I've got my sister's name tattooed on my left arm.

My boyfriend would rather I don't get more, but he said to me something like "When the tattoo matters to you enough, you'll get it no matter what I say." It wasn't a controlling method or anything, he's just making sure I don't get something I'll regret. It'll be something that means so much to me, that I'll get it no matter what anyone says. :]

Anything that shows a lot of skin has a high probability of looking "gay" after 40. Would an old lady with a tramp stamp look any better if she showed the same part of her back only without ink on it? I think not.

I've wanted a tattoo for years. It's changed a lot, what I want, but it's settled that if I were to get one it'd be a phoenix. And some profound, poetic lyrics from a song that means a lot to me.

I'll probably never get one though. I want one, but no matter how much it means to me I'll still get bored of it.
