I've been trying to debug the problem and have a possible fix.

Try the following and let me know how you get on:

    1) download http://cdn.last.fm/jono/AudioScrobbler.bundle-250711.zip
    2) extract the file and move the AudioScrobbler.bundle file to {Home directory}/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
    3) restart iTunes

If you have upgraded to Lion then you may find that you get a warning about 32-bit plugins. As I have been unable to find any details from Apple on an updated 64-bit plugin SDK there's not much that can be done about this.

As a workaround you can select the iTunes application in the Finder, choose the “Get Info” command in the File menu, and check the “Open in 32-bit mode” checkbox in the iTunes Info window.

if you were a girl I would kiss you in the face. thanks!

  • Works!
    [:

  • Thanks

Thanks for the fix, hopefully we can get 64-bit up and running too.

where is my Library folder at in Mac Lion???

  • go to Macintosh HD. either on your desktop or you can use the "Go" menu in finder. In there you should see the Library folder

  • Works for me as well but what about when the repair has been done by last.fm: do I have to remove the AudioScrobbler.bundle file from the iTunes Plug-ins directory?

    Say hello, wave goodbye

One more for the Last.Fm dataset

    OS X Snowkitty 10.6.8, iTunes 10.4 (80), MacBookPro i7, iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.5

No iPhone scrobbling, scrobbles work normally from desktop iTunes plays.

(Don't know if the LastFm automagically launches with iTunes as I have it in my user-account 'launch at startup' items.)

  • When will be an official release? This is lasting too much time…

    GOLDEN HAIR
  • There won't be an official fix. Last.fm Scrobbler has not seen an update for over a year. Therefore, hoping for an update is completely futile.

  • Doesn't work for me at all...

I have a Classic Ipod 120 GB and since the last two updates of Itunes, my Last.fm is not scrobbling anymore tracks from my ipod. I am working with a Windows 7 computer. I tried the manual scrobbling and I get an error message saying that

''Failed to read current Itunes track. Either smth went wrong or the track was not found on the disk despite being in the Itunes library"

The Itunes plugin installed is 3.0.4.0 and the Last.Fm version is 1.5.4.2791

Does anybody know what to do, the above solution has not made a single difference. it's quite frustrating because my current playlist is totally not reflecting what my charts on itunes look like.

That is the beauty of Last.Fm... and now it just seems like it's just a waste of space on my computer really...

    Hope someone can help.

    cheers

Using Snow Leopard Mac OS X 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.4 (80),
No scrobbling of iPod when connected but when playing on iTunes, scrobbling appears to work fine. No communication between iPod and Mr.Scrobble :p
Plus scrobbling of tracks don't show on facebook.

  • Dunkaccino, in Finder hold alt and click Go in the menu. Library will appear. Then, in the iTunes folder you will find iTunes Plug-ins.

no, I have Lion. I click on Finder. There is no Mac HD nor a Library Folder. I just see 'All My Files', 'AirDrop', 'Desktop'.

Even searching in Spotlight for 'iTunes Plug-ins' brings nothing up.

    Please help?

In the Finder go to the Go Menu, then choose 'Go to Folder' and type in ~/Library/

Unfortunately it doesn't work on my Mac. I have iTunes 10.4 and Mac OS X 10.6.8. Last.fm scrobler doesn't start automatically with iTunes.

    same problem as everyone else

  • the AudioScrobbler.bundle-250711.zip works fine ... problem solved ...

  • The audioscrobbler update worked for me too - thanks for the link! My Mac's running OS X 10.6.8 and after updating to iTunes 10.4 I was having the same problems as everyone else in regards to non-scrobbling. Until now, anyway.

  • Thanks it worked for me too!
It took me a while to realize the bundle unzipped automatically.
