Linux Mint + Last.fm + GNOME MPlayer - not scrobbling

  • Linux Mint + Last.fm + GNOME MPlayer - not scrobbling

I'm running on Linux Mint, Last.fm version 1.5.4, and GNOME MPlayer version 0.9.9.2. It does not scrobble, is this a know issue?

    Thanks.

The Linux client just streams music. It doesn't scrobble for other players.

You'd need to use a player that has scrobbling support. There's a number of these: amarok, vlc, rhythmbox, ...

I searched for how to do it with mplayer, but it looks quite a bit more fiddly and complicated.

  • If you're looking for recommendations, Listen incorporates Last.fm radio and Clementine is pretty great without the being as cumbersome as newest Amaroks. Both support Last.fm scrobbling out-of-the-box. Clementine is the least buggy and most feature-rich player for my 17.5K tracks. This is a list that includes mafflix's recommendations as well as foobar under an emulator.
