doesnt stay on diagnosis>ipod scrobbling>"i manually manage my ipod"

I have a 160gb classic, i had been scrobbling perfectly for the last month or so
but recently, my ipod froze, so i recent the factory settings, and now it wont scrobble
using mac os X, itunes 10
    newest version of lastfm client

here's a list of things i've done after the reset and re-upload of music onto my ipod
    -reset user assosiations
-deleted the lastfm preferences in the library
-turn on and off the open itunes when ipod is connected function
-tried playing music through itunes, both the songs in the library and ipod, and they both worked fine
-i unplugged and played a song through ipod and headphones, reconnected, but it still wont scrobble
-the ipod scrobbled after the new itunes 10 and new lastfm, so those are not the problem

the "symptoms" are more or less the same as most of the other manual ipod users i've seen here (i've read a number of the threads, none of it helped)

HOWEVER, everytime i close and open the lastfm client, under help>diagnostics>ipod scrobbling, it always changes back to "itunes automatically updates my ipod"

i've tried many times to stop it from doing that, but it always reverts back to that setting

another unusual thing lastfm is doing, is that although the tracks from itunes/ipod playing in itunes have scrobbled, my recently played list doesn't show them in the client, and on the front page of my user profile
i can see them listed if i click on the recently played tracks to get a full list though
the tracks that are "recently played" are the ones i had played through itunes, the tracks that had scrobbled from my ipod before the reset dont show up on the front page

i mainly want a solution to the "diagnostics, ipod scrobble, always reverts back to auto" problem since its the only one that is different from the other user's

  • Yeah!

I'm having the same issue. Anybody help at all?

    Thirding the auto-reverting auto-managing scrobble-issue.

Though, after having read a bunch of threads in the forum, I don't hold much hope for that being the reason why last.fm stopped scrobbling anything I've played the last week.
