Any issues with iTunes 9?

I had a problem after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.2 from iTunes 7... Tracks would appear on my page as they were playing but wouldn't be entered into my library or recently played list. When I looked at the scrobbler app, it said that the selected track wasn't in an allowed directory... however when I played the same files from other apps (like foobar2k), they were recorded without a problem.

    This solved my problem:

it's all working for me, although at first itunes crashed. here's what i did:

    1- close itunes
    2-open last.fm >> tools >> get plugin
3- select itunes and it will replace the existing plugin

then it should be working fine.

    hope i helped.

After doing the above, I quit iTunes and the last.fm app, waited a minute or so for everything to get out of memory, then restarted iTunes.

    iTunes 9 + Last.FM 1.5.4

iTunes 9 + Last.FM 1.5.4 is working fine on my mac. iPod scrobbling isn't working, but then again- I've never seen that work. (It just hangs my iTunes indefinitely when I enable.)

I uninstalled and reinstalled last.fm and repaired itunes. I'm using Vista.

But I'm still with the same problem: "no library found" after I updated to iTunes 9 :(

  • I've tried everything mentioned in this thread. My ipod won't scrobble, only ever since the new itunes update. GAH!

    Help please :(

  • I'm having the same problem with my iPod

It's the iPod Nano 5th Gen, after I updated to 1.02 iPod software, then it didn't work. So I updated to the latest iTunes, and it worked ok for a day, but ever since it hasn't worked.

I have my iPod synced to a playlist and I am using windows 7.

  • Scrobbing works but you have to add the folder form Last.fm

    I'm using Windows 7 en Itunes 9

I've got the message that the folder with the music was set on scrobbing not allowed. Al my music was however allowed to be scrobbed..........

This message only went away after allowing scrobbing on the map with the Last.fm program (in C:/Program Files)

    Now scrobbing is working!!

  • Superandroid, how do you allow scrobbling from a music folder, where i can allow that??

  • I have an interesting problem here: when i am on diagnostic (in help) and update my ipod, i get over 500 unscrobbled songs. But as soon as i have them on the cahce, the scrobbler stops scrobbling totally, only putting up the song i am listening to know but not putting it in the database on my lastfm page. I emptied the cache and then tried the same again and i got, again 500 songs and the same happens again. My questions are then: how do i get my songs to be scrobbled? how do i empty the cache totally (preferably uploading them to my lastfm profile) - because it seems to me that the scrobbler wont get my songs because of this - ?
When I press restart the scrobbler says for a while "scrobbling 50 tracks... but does nothing and the problem with the songs i am listening on my computer stays the same...

  • Teuton: are you on a Mac? I am having exactly the same issue on my Mac running 10.4.11. I tried scrobbling on my wife's Macbook under 10.5.6 and didn't have the same problems. The scrobbler is completely bonkers on the 10.4.11 Mac, doing exactly what you're describing above. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, emptied the cache, nothing.

  • I am on a PC Windows... seems like a cross-platform problem.
*Edit*: I just got it to scrobble only 36 songs (which would be more or less the ones I listened to yesterday), but I discovered that, as soon as the cache has more than one song on the list, it stops scrobbling. There is something wrong with the submission response for multiple items.

  • I have Vista on one comp and XP on my notebook and since I updated to Itunes 9 my ipod won't scrobble on either of them :(

Works fine when the ipod is plugged in but it doesnt pick up anything i've been listening to when I have the ipod out & about etc.

Tried all the suggestions on here and nothing works :(

I have a Mac, OS 10.4.11, at home. Nothing is scrobbling from iTunes 9 there.

I use a PC at work, and scrobble directly from last.fm. That seems to be working fine.

my ipod is still not scrobbling with itunes 9....i tried repairing it in the control panel, and reinstalling last.fm....just not working, which distresses me greatly. itunes scrobbling works fine, just not the ipod.

  • Still not scrobbling for multiple items...

  • I have the same problem. Itunes crashes multiple times and then it tells me to format my ipod. Scobbling happens occasionally and I don't see any pattern what would explain that.

    This sucks.

    Itunes 9.0.2.25
    Vista

I get the same thing on XP

  • Still no solution for this problem? I tried almost every possible solution given on this board, but nothing helped. In the meantime I bought a new notebook with Windows 7, and I was hoping iPod scrobbling would work again, but still nothing. It all started when I started using Itunes 9 and the iPod nano 5G.

Hope this will be solved soon!

I have the same problem here with iTunes 9.0 and 9.0.2, latest Last.fm and Mac OS X Leopard. It's been quite some time since my iPhone tracks were scrobbled. I tried removing it and it was correctly detected by the Last.fm app, but that's it, no scrobbles no messages in diagnostics.

  • Same sort of issue with me. Although mine will only scrobble some songs off my Pod and omit the rest. But then also give me mulitple playcounts on a song that I've only played once.

    Not cool.

    Same.

Can't believe that this has been an issue for so long and there's been no word on a fix for it.

Edit: I love last.fm, I love that it's free and I want it to stay that way. I just feel like with all the outcry we could at least get some word on whether they know what the problem is, projection for when it might be fixed, etc.etc.

  • this is really pissing me off because i really love last fm too
