Any issues with iTunes 9?

  • Any issues with iTunes 9?

    Hi everyone

Has anyone already installed iTunes 9? Does the last.fm Scrobbler still work?

    Best regards,
    Walter

  • It didn't for me. iTunes would play half a song and then freeze and crash.

seems fine here. got the will not scrobble/tracks error but after adding the last.fm directory to the allowed list it worked.

no problems or errors with either itunes or the client.

  • iTunes scrobbling still works for me. iPod scrobbling does not, however. :-(

  • one problem here when I tried to update my genius data. itunes and lastfm crashes, only updates when I quit lastfm client.

  • it's all working for me, although at first itunes crashed. here's what i did:

    1- close itunes
    2-open last.fm >> tools >> get plugin
3- select itunes and it will replace the existing plugin

then it should be working fine.

    hope i helped.

Usually I have had a lot of problems when upgrading but doing it in the order as you detailed worked perfectly. I had held off upgrading because everything would usually stop working. No scrobbling, lots of crashing, etc.

No problem here but it's very slow to launch. I'm on OSX 10.6 and I see the Lastfm icon bouncing at least 10 times on my dock !

  • Oh, yes I have a problem, it doesn't want to sync a video I have, it says I have 79 mb let and when I tried to add a 39 mb video it would say I needed a certain amount for it to fit.
I tried adding songs instead of the video, but it would do the same.
But other than that scrobbling works fine.

  • Scrobbling has been stopped since I've upgraded to iTunes 9 (win). There is a message, that the playing track is not under allowed directory. Adding scrobbler installation folder to list helps, but this means, that you cannot disable scrobbling within the directory anymore (no WC music, huh? ;-) )

ipod scrobbling doesnt work for me...

  • Scobbler won't run. All I get is application error message.

  • ipod scrobbling does not work

i get the error message "Failed to get hold of Itunes via Com" from last.fm

  • Everything is working fine for me. (Even ipod scrobbling...)

  • Same problem here, iTunes 9 is scrobbling fine on my desktop but nothing from my iPod.

  • iPod scrobbling

    Update
Apparently, I just haven't noticed Last.fm scrobble my iPod successfully and was trying to make it work when there just were no unscrobbled plays. Sorry for the false report.

The log below might be used as a reference for the case when everything works fine, but there are no new scrobbles.

    Old Message (false report)
iPod scrobbling doesn't work for me either with iTunes 9.0.0.70 (downloaded x64 version, but in fact it still seems to be 32-bit app) and Last.fm 1.5.4.24567, iTunes plugin version 3.0.2.0.

The diagnostic log is (sorry, was unable to find how to copy/paste it):

Scrobbling the music I listen to directly with iTunes works fine.

  • It doesn't works here. After i install the new version of iTunes everything crash. When i try to scrobble my iPod touch the diagnostic is:

Result code: E_NOINTERFACE doesn't sound nice.

I try to restore the original settings off my iPod and erase 32gb music, but nothing helped. Unfortunately i can't restore the older version of iTunes?

I'm with Vista OS, 1.1.5 iPod software and latest last.fm scrobbler. Until now everything was fine.

I can't get the iPhone to scrobble but it will work when I play a track in iTunes.

I have iTunes 9.0.0.70, Lastfm 1.5.4.24567 with Last.fm iTunes plugin 3.0.2.0 on US version of Vista 32bit with all the latest/greatest updates.

I'm having same problems as comrade_volk and Cradle-a with Result code: E_NOINTERFACE

And to sum up the problem, songs played in iTunes on the PC scrobble fine, but songs played on the iPod or iPhone do not scrobble at all.

  • iTunes 9 scrobbles from my mac,
but my iPod has not scrobbled since iTunes 9 was installed.

    Same issue here as well.

    Windows 7 RC
    iTunes 9.0.0.70
    last.fm client 1.5.4.24567
    iTunes plugin 3.0.2.0
    iPod Touch OS 3.1.1

Scrobbling is working in iTunes and iPod for me. I had updated my previous iTunes 8 by clicking on Help > Check for updates. While the Apple update program was downloading iTunes+Quickime I exited both iTunes and the last.fm client.

Once iTunes was updated I played a track and it scrobbled without any issues. Updated my iPod and have had no issues getting scrobbles from it either.

For those in Vista having the E_NOINTERFACE error, try exiting the client and then Right Clicking on the last.fm icon and selecting Run as administrator.
