Getting my iTunes stats into last.fm - cancel account, then re-join?

I have a crap load of listening data in my iTunes library. When I signed up to last.fm, I did it on my laptop, which has a different (mostly empty) iTunes library. I've read 100 times that the last.fm Scrobbler for iTunes app will only allow to upload your entire library stats once, so my question is:

Can I delete my account, then re-join with the same name, so the iTunes scrobbler can re-import my current iTunes stats? Or will it forever ban my username if I cancel the account?

    yes you can.
after you delete your account, you'll have to wait about 24 hours until your nickname is free again :)

then you can import any listening history you want to :p

  • Well, I wiped my account and re-created it, and all is now well. All 76000+ listens are now in the last.fm database. I wish last.fm would just give you the option to trash your stats, then re-upload from the official last.fm client app.

    fix

if you're on a mac, just go into (username)/Library/Application Support/last.fm and delete the .db file as well as your username's submissions.

next time you start the last.fm client it will ask you to import.

I don't see how that would work, since installing the last.fm client on another mac doesn't re-import your library from that mac. It's done once per-account, not per-client-install.
