    only some ipod plays scrobbled?

my scrobbler is only scrobbling some of my plays. for instance, yesterday, i had 228 plays to be scrobbled, and it only scrobbled 74 of them. quite a few of them were repeats of one song, if that helps any. can anyone give me some help for this? D:

    oh and:

i'm using windows XP, i have the latest version of the last.fm scrobbler, itunes and the itunes plugin, and my ipod is a 160gig classic, black.

  • I have the same problem and situation except my ipod is the silver one....

  • Did you have a read through the iPod FAQ yet, especially those three topics ?

yes i already checked the faqs and read all three of those. i'm talking about new scrobbles that are not 'expired' - they're only a day or so old. i also auto-sync my ipod, so that's not the problem, either.

I have the same problem with the same ipod.

  • I've been having some sporadic issues lately, too. And this is after going a long time with no issues at all. When I come home from work and sync my iPod to scrobble my tunes, normally everything shows up in the confirmation. But once in a while, it misses a chunk of stuff. Today, it missed 2 full albums for no reason. These are albums that have scrobbled just fine in the past, the tags are correct. They just didn't get submitted for some reason.

The other day I was playing a song directly in iTunes, the last.fm client showed it as scrobbled, and it showed up on my profile as "now playing". After it finished, it didn't get logged on my recently played list. I ended up having to play it 3 times for it to stay.

  • Having this problem again, as in the first paragraph above.

Plug in iPod, only some scrobbles get submitted. It's like selective scrobbling.

    What the hell?

  • Same problem here... I hope theres a solution to this. =S This sucks, I listened a lot on my ipod classic 80gb yesterday, but only 20% of it shows up in the last fm scrobble pop up, while iTunes shows all of it.
I've never had this problem before, I don't remember I made any changes...

  • same happened today..

  • Same here, though no tracks are being scrobbled. Black 60GB iPod video on Mac OS X (10.5.6).

I'm having this problem too. It scrobbled 20 tracks out of who knows how many more. It was a lot more than 20 though.

Me too. Only some things get scrobbled and it seems to be entirely random. No, they're not expired. Sick of this. :(

  • Same here, when I synced my iPod Shuffle(2nd gen), on my win vista, itunes 8, there were 300+ plays waiting to be scrobbled.
However, only two tracks got scrobbled, and the rest got ignored.
I'm not manually managing my iPod, and the tracks are just 3 or 4 days old. Some help, please?
I've missed out on something over a thousand scrobbles because of this :(

Just had this happen to me, 185 scrobbles ready to go from my ipod and only 50 actually showed up on the page. Very disappointing =(

Try this, Go to your scrobbler and:
    1. Click "help/ select diagnostics"
    2. click "ipod scrobbling" tab
    3. click "scrobble ipod" button

-I did this and the scrobbler found all my missing scrobbles from the last time i connected my ipod.

-I did this without having my ipod connected.

-Don't know why or how it worked. Just happy it did.

  • Are people even trying to solve this problem?
I've waited for almost 2 weeks for an answer.
And no, those 3 links weren't any help.

  • This always happens when I most need to scrobble.

How we survive, is what makes us who we are...
  • I have this exact problem aswell. I think that if you listen to less than 50% of each track it does not scrobble but i pretty much always listen to whole tracks. Any ideas on this ?

It happened again. It's kind of random, it only does it now and then. Other times it scrobbles perfectly. It has nothing to do with track length, or disk management or anything.

    I guess it's a bug?

  • same problem.
mine just picked up 20 out of about 1000 scrobbles

  • Same thing happening here...
