Mac client in 10.5

  • Mac client in 10.5

You may be interested to learn that the Mac client doesn't seem to work very well in the latest build of Leopard.

    :(

I probably shouldn't be more specific due to NDA issues, but if any of the developers have access to the seed builds, I'd suggest giving it a go...

  • Try out version 1.1.3.0.

Not surprising in the slightest given that we've not really put any effort into getting it to work under 10.5 yet.

Fear not, this should be fixed nearer Leopard's release.

  • I'm having trouble.

leopard starts up and so does last.fm client and the client is unresponsive. please fix, this is a huge bother to me.

I usually have two last.fm-symbols in my Leopard dock, one responding, one not. There are quite some bugs appearing here with Leopard, I'm so waiting for a ton of updates...

  • same here, 2 dock icons, other than that, it works great

  • yup same here - I'm using the iScrobbler plugin until it gets fixed...

ETA on the new version that works on Leopard?

  • I'll echo the previous posters - I have only just joined last.fm (wow I wish I'd joined sooner, finding some great music) and have Leopard, am generally seeing 2 dock icons but otherwise working fine (so far as I can tell). The menubar options seem to work perfectly well too.

  • Open, then close, crash, repeat.

    Hey,

Well I've been having an issue with it quitting correctly. Ever since I had it even in 10.4 it would lock up upon quitting. It sucks but so far its been easy to solve just by force quitting the program, I have a feeling that ain't healthy though. The problem persists onto 10.5

    What do you guys think,

    Try this

I just switched to iScobbler, it seems better anyway, and it works in 10.5. Also supports ipods.

  • A reinstall of Last.fm Fixed Leopard Issue Here

No probs after a re-install, so far.

  • 2 dock icons too

ive reinstalled it a few time but i still get the one responsive and one unrepsonsive dock icon....its kinda of anoyying

Had the 2-icon issue, only happened once so far though.

The real problem is that the dock icon won't hide even after telling it to in the last.fm prefs. And the prefs window can't be selected by clicking on the dock icon or using Expose; it has to be uncovered by hiding other open windows.

    Problems/Uninstall

I seem to be having all sorts of weird problems with the last.fm client in Leopard. Pretty much everything mentioned above but also when I try trashing last.fm from my applications folder (was hoping to try re-installing it) it says I can't because it's running - despite the fact that it's not running! I even tried this after a reboot with nothing else running and it still says the same thing. Seems like last.fm is starting something on it's own during boot-up.

Anyway, switching to iscrobbler. A shame the official client doesn't work :(

  • Doesn't work

The sooner it will work with leopard the better... I want my music scrobbled!!!!

    As Above

I'm having the same double icon issue, and Last.fm client doesn't open with iTunes.

I might do what was suggested until the client it updated. Would be nice for some sort of official word on the status of this.

I have a working build, will be released Monday.

I have to say Leopard is awesome :) Just gorgeous and functional.

  • What I did to fix the problem was delete all .plist files relevant to last.fm and then reinstall. I don't have two last.fm icons in my dock anymore and now I can open it fine.

Estimated time of arrival for the new OS X client that officially supports Leopard (10.5)?

I can use this 1.3.2.13b version by force quitting the unresponsive client from the dock.

I did need to "reinstall" the client first though. Just drag it to Trash from Applications and install normally.

    Seems to work now...

It works for me if I start the client manually. If it auto starts through iTunes the dock icon starts bumping up and down permantly crashed.

  • Fixed? I don't understand–-that link just goes to the Fingerprinter...

  • mxcl just has wrong link, here it is:
