Scrobbling for my account has never worked properly

The songs seem to show up in my profile as I play them, and in my last.fm scrobbling client on my computer as playing. But my stats are insane, they're not right at all. I'm only trying to scrobble from iTunes, its never worked - it's really making last.fm pretty useless for me and thats unfortunate. The stats in my iTunes couldn't be farther from what last.fm is making up, though it seems to record each track as I'm playing it - when the stats are pushed through they're completely non-sensical. Maybe I need to move on to another service?
