    ubuntu dapper amd64

    Where the hack can I find these libs, and how to link them the right way?

    My $LD_LIBRARY_PATH is empty...

    $ldd bin_LastFM

    libLastFMTools.so.1 => not found ???they are all in the directory from that I startup
    libQtXml.so.4 => not found
    libQtGui.so.4 => not found

    libQtNetwork.so.4 => not found
    libQtCore.so.4 => not found

    I got this message: Couldn't load service: libplayback_rtaudio! The application won't be able to startup!

    But I guess it's something else wich lacks, because ./lastfm sets $LD_LIBRARY_PATH ...

    And I did
    $ sudo aptitude install --with-recommends libqt4-core libqt4-qt3support libqt4-sql lsb-qt4 qt4-designer qt4-dev-tools qt4-doc qt4-qtconfig uim-qt libqt4-gui libqt4-dev libqt4-debug-dev libqt4-debug

    compile error from trunk, also RtAudio and libplayback... I tried to build in dapper chroot_i386

    I got this message on the binary 1.0.0.b: Couldn't load service: libplayback_rtaudio! The application won't be able to startup!

  • Buggy Software

    It is impossible to quit this app withou getting the "the application unexp. quit...." dialog.

    It also fails to recognize accented caracters in tags. Wich is quite unuseful when you live in Norway. I cannot see why this should be a problem.

    Another thing is that it fails to scroble after a while.

    Otherwise I think this is a cool idea. Just make it more streamlined.

    I linked rtAudio 3.0.3 [1] to the src of the trunk, and it compiled successful, but the trunk offers only the debug version, and crashes on play.

    I can only choose alsa for output.

    1.0.0.b installed fine after installing some libs.

    But I can hear no sound: It tries to connect and fails, but I think, that it doesn't crash on play (?).

    Should I provide the logfiles, and more debug info? Or is this due to wrong audio configuration?

  • Two issues under OS X 10.4.7

    Problems with using Last.fm app offline
    - Sometimes, after changing a track in iTunes, it doesn't update in Last.fm and keeps scrobbling with the previous track that was not finished.
    - Sometimes, scrobbling of a track continues in Last.fm even though the track has been paused in iTunes.
    Those issues are intermittent and happened while I was offline.

    EDIT:
    Narrowed down the issue:
    It seems like the Last.fm app can't scrobble the songs that have accents in their titles like "é_è_à_ç_à" that are used in most European languages.

    E' pericoloso sporgersi.

    could someone with this mysterious initial crash (where it shows up and asks for your username nad pw and then crashes) os x send me a crash report, please? also, you made sure that the old last.fm player wasn't running at the same time?

    It was crashing for me at the initial login, but quitting iTunes remedied this. Crash report below if needed. Also FYI- I've noticed one instance so far of the "now playing" info (track name, cover art, etc.) not changing when I skip to the next track.

    Hats off to the folks who worked on the client - it's come a LONG way!

    Cheers,

    This is such a large issue and the developers have yet to say "we know it's a problem" at least that I have seen, yet. I'm pretty sure they know about it, but I won't be using the last.fm client for scrobbling until this is fixed. I look forward to exploring the client more once this issue is addressed.

    Hi is there any Bugtracking system for LastFMPlayer?
    Or, at least: Is there any developer out there who reads this thread??

    Where can I get the old player, and where to get a good wiki or Howto to get it, or what ever (plugin/player) working...

    The LastFM Proxy also got it's downsides...

  • About Ubuntu LTS 6.06 Alsa driver problem

    I said yesterday that after kernel update Lastfm client works well ( no more

    This morming it crash again, with the same message. I find a turn around : Kill the esd process, i think it's an access conflit.

  • Compiling on Ubuntu

    After installing Qt4 from Synaptic, I uncompressed the Lastfm folder to my Desktop, and did like the Readme said... however that didn't work exactly as I hoped.

    $ qmake
    Usage: qmake [mode] [options] [files]
    [...]
    -nomoc Don't generate moc targets [makefile mode only]
    -nopwd Don't look for files in pwd [project mode only]

    However, I was succesful by writing 'qmake -project' and then 'qmake'. However, at no point did the 'make' command do anything:

    $ qmake -project
    $
    $ make
    bash: make: command not found

    Hi,

    Have been trying to compile on Ubuntu all day. The old player is intermittent and often hangs - no idea why but it seems a common problem - so I wanted to try the beta.

    Installed qt via Ubuntu package manager, but the 'README' file says to issue 'qmake' and then 'make' to install.

    qmake needs some sort of further option to work. In other words should it be something like "qmake -project". I ran that with some success (in other words, something happened) and then ran "make" which ran with errors.

    Any ideas? A bit more detailed installation instructions would be worthwhile for the semi-competent Linux user like me who usually avoids compiling.

    Any chance of a deb file any time soon?

    There is one small bug: the 'buy from $10.49' button appears a bit ugly:

    Ok, I'll try to build it from svn with $qmake -project this evening. Because when I build it from svn and ran qmake nothing happens, and the build I made then with make doesn't ework with alsa, and crashes all the time.

    System is suse 10.0, compiled rev2113 from svn. One oddity, no LastFM binary is created so I cannot run Lastfm.sh. However lastfm_debug.sh works fine.

    Links also still work from firefox after I updated
    the network.protocol-handler.app.lastfm to the path to lastfm_debug.sh

    I found this beta forum:
    http://www.last.fm/group/Audioscrobbler%2BBeta/forum/30705/_/131760/2
    try the following:

    edit trunk/src/rtaudioplayback/rtaudioplayback.cpp, line 193. change LINUX_ALSA to LINUX_OSS.

    save, and run make in trunk again

    and
    When I compiled on Gentoo I had to make a few modifications, a one-line edit for 64bit-compatibility:

    --- src/wizardselectupdatespage.cpp (revision 2107)
    +++ src/wizardselectupdatespage.cpp (working copy)
    @@ -86,7 +86,7 @@
    item->setCheckState(nCheck == 1 ? Qt::Checked : Qt::Unchecked);

    // Store its pointer along with string
    - item->setData(1, reinterpret_cast<unsigned int>(&current));
    + item->setData(1, reinterpret_cast<qulonglong>(&current));
    }
    }

    And I had to add -fPIC to the CFLAGS var in src/Makefile - don't know if there's a 'better' way to get it to add extra flags. I don't know if the -fPIC requirement is a result of my edit, I don't think it is though. And when it errored about -fPIC it was on the same file: Logger.o

    After I got it compiled though, I ran lastfm_debug.sh and the first time it showed a wizard, which I went through entering user/pass etc, but now it does nothing if I re-run it :| Any ideas on that one?

    And will try to compile it that way

  • last.fm client on RHEL3 not working

    Hi,

    I have this working fine on my Mac at home, but here at work I run Linux with kernel 2.4.21-37.0.1.ELsmp.

    Here's what happens when I go to run the client:

    [me@mymachine Last.fm_Client_1.0.0b]$ ls
    bin_LastFM imageformats libLastFMTools.so.1.0.0 libstdc++.so.6
    ChangeLog lastfm libQtCore.so.4 README
    COPYING libLastFMTools.so libQtGui.so.4 services
    data libLastFMTools.so.1 libQtNetwork.so.4
    extensions libLastFMTools.so.1.0 libQtXml.so.4
    [ecgarris@moria Last.fm_Client_1.0.0b]$ ./lastfm
    ./bin_LastFM: error while loading shared libraries: libXinerama.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    So what does last.fm want with libXinerama and is there a way to tell it to ignore that? Failing that, anyone know a good place to get that in RPM format or source?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Compile error on amd64 lastfm 1.0.0.1

    Here is the compile and debugging session:
    beta2 under gentoo : crash on startup | floogy | * 27 Jul 2006, 23:10

    I applied all mentioned patches etc. for x64 ...

    It allways crashes on 'play', I used rtaudio 3.0.3.

    gdb output:

    Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

    454 RtAudio.h:

    453 */
    454 void setStreamCallback(RtAudioCallback callback, void *userData) { rtapi_->setStreamCallback( callback, userData ); };
    455

    It doesn't matter, if I run fastfm through aoss wrapper to force using oss emulation devices...

    What's wrong?

    If I use LastFM Player to scrobble through Last.FM, I can see Loved and Last played tunes, and by searching or selecting Artists or Genres I can influence the radio I hear with lastfmproxy and beep-media-player (scrobbler-plugin).

    So, it's not completely unuseable.

    454 RtAudio.h: No such file or directory.

    Is this due to the symlinks to RtAudio that I made, or does it mean, that the userData cannot be found (maybe due to network connection errors, or wrong sound settings?)?

    I moved the original three files RtAudio.h etc. to another place, and symlinked RtAudio-3.0.3 to ./trunk/src/rtaudioplayback/rtaudio

    $ grep Version ./trunk/src/rtaudioplayback/rtaudio/RtAudio.h
    // RtAudio: Version 3.0.3 (18 November 2005)

    no source!?!

    (Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on PPC)

    on this page :

    http://www.last.fm/tools/downloads/

    it tells me I'm using Linux and :

    "
    Curious?
    It's version 1.0.0 Beta, a 5Mb tar/bzip2 source package
    "

    I download and unpack the file, but there's ot source code in it as far as I can tell

    Also, the bin_LastFM file is Intel arch only :

    $ file bin_LastFM
    bin_LastFM: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.6, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.6, stripped

    It would be great if there fact were mentioned on the web page.

    So, downloading that was a waste of time, and I have to download it all from SVN...

    Max.

    http://www.last.fm/forum/34905/_/132803/_/1580231

    Source from the beta is available through svn,

    svn co svn://svn.audioscrobbler.net/LastFM_client/trunk/

    But it still has some bugs.

  • What the...?

    Hi. Yesterday, the Last.FM player was working great for me in Ubuntu Linux. However, the player seems to crash when I try playing some music... (actually it doesn't crash, but it closes itself). Does anyone have a similar issue?

  • Works right out of the box at my Ubuntu 6.06 Laptop.

    Lovin' it, thanks!
