    is the "Recent Tracks" being cleared so often the same issue as this, or something else?

    Top lists are updating just fine for me - almost daily.

    I would however like a response to my numerous posts about disappearing artists.

    I just want to know if it will ever be fixed. Is a yes or a no too much to ask?

  • Will the history which couldn't be updated, be updated as soon as the matter is solved, or is that lost.....?

    Thx in advance for your answer, I'm just curious.....

    What about profiles that missed part of an update once, and seem to have forgotten about it?
    Two months ago I posted this because a few songs got into my top songs but the corresponding artists never appeared in top tracks, while they should have, considering the number of tracks I played from them (e.g. 'Bonobo', 'RJD2'). It's still not solved. My profile is updating regulary and new tracks appear in the top lists, but I can't make any of these 'forgotten' artists into my top artists list no matter how much I play them, although they appear in top songs.

    Is this due to some bug?

  • Any news, yet? Dun wanna be a pest, I'm just curious as to what the problem might be and/or a projected time frame for a fix. It really sucks that it was first announced on the 15th, and nothing else official has been said about it.

    Well, it wouldn't make a difference if you didn't as it's free. Have some patience, you're using this service for free and it's cost them a lot of their time.

    Because it's meant to work. It does work, eventually.

    Unfortunately we currently do not have enough hardware for realtime lists generation. We need to buy a new database server, but this won't happen until the new year. Until then, updates will be slow.

    Re:

    I have more than 300 tracks played, is it normal my top tracks and top lists have never been updated. Is this normal because the reasons you explained or is it possible that there is another problem?

    Thank you

    Unfortunately, that is pretty normal, for right now. The top lists are broken (as the thread's title clearly states), and the reason Russ stated is why the lists can't be generated in realtime. Also unfortunate is that the system itself is still a bit buggy. However, this is being diligently worked on (for a free service, might I remind you ;)) and of the highest priority of things to do (speculation). As you keep listening, it does provide more opportunity to find more bugs/errors, but you also provide the data that this whole system runs on. Without the listeners, it can't be fixed, or at least not nearly as quickly. I've gone into ramble mode, so I'm done now, hah. :}

    Hardly... if you need a website to tell you what you listen to most, chances are you're not really listening. This service is more to provide people with recommendations based on their listening habits. Also, it can provide you with a list of people whose listening habits are similar to yours (the neighbor page), so you can quite possibly meet new people. :}

    But from what I have seen the recommendations and network works off of the top lists. Correct me if I am wrong though.
