    iTunes Windows Plugin Beta

Xurble has written a plugin for the Windows version of iTunes.

Grab it from the download page and give it a try. An iTunes/Windows forum will be opening soon, meanwhile report any success/failure in this thread :)

    Information wants to be beer.
  • Looking good

Looks good so far, no crashes, doesn't seem to be leaking memory. The queue currently has >7000 submissions in it so it'll be an hour to find out if it's submitted correctly.

I only joined on Friday and you've written a plug-in for me already, now that's what I call service ;)

You can't spend your whole life hanging round with arseholes

    Seems fine

Thanks for this, i've been using iTunes over winamp for ages so my audioscrobbler stats were getting a little out of date ;)
No crashes or anything so far, but it's only been two songs... :)

  • i love winamp, i'm not going to trade for anything, unless someone knows something thats better, as long as its free

  • You don't want to start that debate...

    lol
  • password

is there a way to edit your password/login after the first time. uninstalling and reinstalling the plug in didnt work. i entered the wrong one the first time, so it hasnt been working for me.

  • I LOVE YOU

I have been waiting since last August, (erm, whenever winiTunes was released) to have an A.S. Plugin for it. It seems to be working without any flaws. I did have to hand delete it once, then re-install, but that is a small, small price to have to pay. :-*

Make iScrobbler the active visualization, turn on visualization and then press the options button.

It does say this on the config screen :-)

    I didn't do it.

er that was a reply to subliminalmsgr, clearly.

    I didn't do it.
  • reeseman, I tend to like iTunes better, since it has everything in the same place. It also has a few really neat features that I haven't found in any other player (like shuffle by album)

There is no turning back from a turned back. (How do you like mine?)
  • ok thanks xurble....the visualization was on full screen so there was no options button, otherwise i probably could've figured that out...ha

  • Sometimes the handshake ends up becoming invalid and you just get "Bas Password" whenever it tries to submit. Perhaps when a Bad Password is found it should try and re-handshake and send again, and stop if it gets another bad password message?

  • Small problems

My plugin handshakes, but it just registers what I'm "Listening Now" but not the "Recent Tracks". It still has "-- no recent submissions --" there. Very wierd. No proxy server, on Windows XP, and Win.iTunes 4.2.0.72

i noticed the same thing, it seems like they take longer to show than with the winamp plugin. thought it was just me :)

  • You can download that dll here:

plemeljr & doggie^ : I'm no server expert but I think that under heavy load the server will update your now playing but queue the rest of the updates to your profile

Hammer[pth]: Which version of Windows are you using? I'll update the installer to include that dll in future.

    I didn't do it.
  • Is there any built in Cache in the plugin like the others, so if the handshake fails it will try to re-submit later? If not that might be something you want to add to a new version.
