    We're back

Pretty much everything that could go wrong, did go wrong this weekend, but finally we are back online and we have managed to finish all the database work.

Any user who used to have multiple profiles should now find their profiles merged into one. We may have lost some stats in the process, but when we found out at 1am this morning we didn't really want to go through the whole 8-hour process again. Any stats loss should be minor. The merging of stats should, however, speed up the site a lot.

Submissions should be back online sometime this evening.

Oh, and by the way, there have been a couple of minor group updates ;).

As for the group updates, nothing too drastic yet - but a step in the right direction.

PS: Submissions will be back up later today.

    Missing stats

i've lost the last 7 days. in few cases people may have lost more.. sorry if you have.
Newer users might be more at risk as our profile system was a little b0rked. It's fixed now tho..

My stats are completely wrong - I have never lsitened to any queen or lacrimosa on my machine - where have my 1254 songs gone? :(

It says I have 1254 songs still but it shows three songs by queen and lacrimosa - the 2nd band I have never even heard of!! :s

Yay, new style of top fans is quite cool.
I lost about 100-200 tracks. Not so big deal though.

Any explanation anywhere on the new two number thing for the track listening stats?

  • Luckily, I have been to a music festival the past days. So I didn't really notice anything.

Only a couple small things have changed in my stats, so no problems in fact

OK -- I think I get it now. The user's ranking for the bands are now listed and used to sort the top fans.

How does the new Top Fans thing work anyhow? the 6/58 numbers - is it worked out on a percentage of what the person listens to? **scratches head**

    yeah

the first number is how high the artist is in the users profile, second number is how many songs of this artist he's listened to.

    get it?

  • My stats are quite a bit off as well. I've listened to David Bowie, but certainly not 116 times since I've been 'scrobbing. A few other artists are showing higher numbers than they should as well. I like them all, just haven't been listening to that much of them lately. Oh, and I lost just under 1,000 songs in my song count. But I don't mind that as much as the incorrect artist counts.

Also, if I'm understanding the 'Top Fans' section correctly, it's showing "ranking/#of times listened to" for a particular fan. I'm not sure I like this but I may just be resistant to change. What's the reasoning behind it?

Well...I'm pretty new so I didn't lose too much. The number of songs seems the same, though...only the top artists now shows random stuff I've never heard before.

  • Great new system for the top fans !!
    Nice anticipation for the futur...

    hmmm

Mine are just on the 17th of August. I've listened to about 500 tracks since then. I'm just glad I didn't lose any more than I did. I still love AS. :)

I think there are still some problems with the database when i look at these numbers for instance: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/music/Miles+Davis/_/Blue+In+Green

Also, in my last played tracks there are several tracks with no Top Fans, no plays at all actually: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/music/superpitcher/_/Happiness+%28M.+Mayer+Remix%29
Is there still some munching to do? :)
