    Amazon Cloud Player + Scrobble?

Amazon Cloud Player (or Android app) + Last.fm scrobbler

Does anyone think it might be made to work? I'm trying out Amazon's new cloud music service and it'd be nicer if it scrobbled.

  • I think scrobbling may work only if amazon add this support by self or if they expose cloud player api so third party developers be able to create services for scrobbling support.

I suggest you and others reading this topic to leave а feedback to amazon from cloud player page. There is a feedback item in the settings menu on the top right corner of the cloud player page.

  • Agreed. Give Amazon feedback via: Amazon Feedback

  • I was wondering the same thing... I think I'll have to let Amazon know how I feel...

  • SLS & Amazon Cloud Player Android app

I have Simple Last.fm Scrobbler installed on my HTC Evo and it's not scrobbling with Amazon Cloud Player. Doesn't recognize it, FWIW

Another thing is the Voice Actions "Listen To" which only works with online music services, so Amazon Cloud Player should also be pulled into that.

Nicely though I updated the Amazon MP3 app on my phone and opened it, instantly had all my music that's on my SD card right there, also plays horizontal, just don't like the white Amazon look otherwise.

  • Google Chrome Extension

I'm in the process of working on a google chrome extension so scrobbleing will work from the cloud player in the meantime until one of the companies hopefully comes out with a solution.

I currently have it getting the current song and artist information from the page and need to get it submitting to the last.fm api. I have messed around with the last.fm API before, but with PHP. I'm not all the great with javascript so if anyone can help please let me know.

I'll update you when I finish the extension and hopefully it will be a viable alternative for the time being.

Edit: Just found a last.fm JS API class, should be much easier/quicker now!

  • josho493 - would love that chrome extension to scrobble cloudplayer!!

  • Android Support

If Last.FM supports the Amazon Cloud Player, I would gladly pay that subscription fee, no questions asked :)

I'm digging the cloud. Just need scrobbling and I be happy. Please someone make this happen.

but as already mentioned earlier in this thread, it's really Amazon's job to enable scrobbling. Last.fm's API is open and free there's nothing more that could be done from this side.

  • I would love this idea. I sent an email to Amazon to see if they would consider supporting Last. fm

Here's the email to contact Amazon

If Amazon's cloud music locker could be integrated in the new and daily evolving Tomahawk Player scrobbling would be easily available via Tomahawk.

    Time will tell... ;)

  • Would love a Chrome extension for this, but it'd be really nice if you could just link your Amazon account and have it take care of all scrobbling.

  • I couldn't wait any longer and wrote a simple Google Chrome extension

    Web Store link:
    Amazon Cloud Player scrobbler

    Features

    * Scrobbles now playing songs at 70% played time
    * Song information in popup window
    * Cloud Player state in icon
    * Love/unlove now playing song
    * Option to turn scrobbling off if you do not want to send scrobbles

Report any issues or suggestions at Web Store extension page or at Github project.

  • Firefox/Greasemonkey and Chrome plugin

I've written a plugin as well which works in Firefox, Chrome, and any other browser that can take User Scripts. Hopefully that helps someone out other than just me. :)
