    Mediamonkey

    Audioscrobbler changed my life.
    The Mediamonkey changed my life.
Now I want to combine LastFM with Mediamonkey. Can you please make a plugin?

According to the mediamonkey forums you can use the Winamp plugin:

I got it to work, and this is how:
Make sure that Media Monkey is NOT open during installation!
    1. Download Winamp plug-in for AS
    2. Install the plug-in into MediaMonkey's Plug-In folder (no further sub-folders)
    3. You are presented with two options:
    1) media library version
    2) general version
    Choose the second.
    4. Open MediaMonkey and the configure plug-in screen should pop up.

Right now I'm submitting using only Media Monkey and it's working fine.
    Hope it helps.

...and the moral of the story is: with a contrived example, you can prove anything.
  • ML version in MM

How to get the media library version to work:

    1. Downoad Winamp plug-in for AS
    2. Install the plugin into MediaMonkey's Plug-in folder
    3. You are presented with two options:
    a) media library version
    b) general version
    Choose the first
    4. Close MediaMonkey if open
    5. Open the plug-in folder and find the file ml_audioscrobbler.dll
    6. Rename the file to gen_audioscrobbler.dll
    7. Open MediaMonkey and find the plugin in tools -> options -> general plug-ins
    8. Click configure and minimize mediamonkey.
    9. Go configure

With the ML version you can MM tag tracks located on read-only media such as CDRs. Don't know if this worked with the general version, since I installed the ML version first time.

  • Just wanted to add my support to requesting MM gets "official support".

PS/ these is a media monkey group if you haven't found it yet.

  • also, my support of all things itunes is waning, so does anyone know how to make this support ipod plays?

    i would love you forever

basically how does the plug in work? does it work like the itunes one? look for recent plays?

  • anything yet?

Just curious if there are plans for official support of MediaMonkey any time soon? I've been having problems since sometime yesterday--I keep getting an UNREADABLE response, and have over 200 songs cached, waiting to update.

The reason you're getting that is because the submissions server is temporarily down.

  • ah, thanks. is there some kind of status info somewhere so I will know next time this happens?

  • thanks, I'll try to check it out. It's taking about 2-3 minutes for every link I click on to pull up today. It's always slow, but worse than usual today.

Thanks! This rocks I have been useing MediaMonkey for that last couple days I don't really care for the interface persay but it beats every player around when it comes to search.

26,000+ mp3 MediaPlayer, Itunes etc takes a min or so to find a artist where as Mediamonkey is instant. This is what make this player rocks.

Think it doesn't. I posted the question in the Winamp forum yesterday. You could try Yamipod to submit iPod plays.

This thread crops up at least once a week - if you read the stickies and or search the forum before posting you'll find it.

As far as official support goes, the player plug-ins are not written by the staff, so someone will need to write one.

  • Media Monkey and Audioscrobbler

I'd been having a lot of problems with iTunes and recently discovered MediaMonkey and love it. I've tried to download the Winamp audioscrobbler following instructions from this forum so that I can use last.fm but the audioscrobbler file doesn't show up in the General Plugins when I go to configure, does anyone know why this would happen and how I can rectify it, please?

  • Hmmm... you dug up a thread that has been dead and buried for over 8 months just to ask that?
I guess you have doen a lot of clicking and reading ;)

I did a search and found This far more recent thread...

If that doesn't help you, kick that thread instead of this one... because of it being old and off-topic I am going to lock this one...
