Scrobbling tracks in dj software like Traktor or Serato?
I would love to see support like that.

Imagine your favourite dj (playing mp3's obvious) would have an account and you could check out all tracks he/she played the night before!

It's not (easily) possible, for two main reasons:

Partially because it becomes difficult to decide when/how many times a track should be scrobbled if it's played only in part/mixed with something else/with sections looped, rather than being played normally. But mostly because, even if that's sorted out, the programmes don't allow third party plug-ins to get in at the info required for scrobbling (or that was true last time this question came up, anyway, I don't expect it's changed).

  • I noticed that traktor counts how many times a track has been played, i'm guessing after a track gets loaded, played for a percentage or a few seconds and then unloaded.
But if that still is true then it's too bad.
    Thanks.

if anybody makes a beta for last.fm support in serato scratch live id be hella interested in it. The songs I DJ arn't usually the songs I play in itunes, which sucks because I should be able to scrobble both :(

  • yeah I'd be interested in this too

  • definitly wanted

    Please Please Please.

    please =)

  • This should be easier to do now with new way that Sertato 1.9 makes tracklists of what you've played - just scrobble the data as you close Serato

Do the developers even look at these threads btw?

    Hi guys,

I have built a scrobbler for Serato ScratchLive! - http://github.com/ben-xo/sslscrobbler . Take a peek, let me know what you think.

Check out my journal for my latest Drum'n'Bass and Electro House mixes.

Why yes, they certainly do look at these threads, but there are many reasons why they do not respond, or do not need to respond publicly, as they often handle these things privately and we just never see it happen.

    Thank you ben-xo! =)

It's a pity how many plays get lost when using Traktor :(
