    yes, well, a change is always better.... i'd have like to see a bit more configurabilty given to the user in this version. it looks too much like facebook (which can get overly cluttered with nonsense). hows about allowing users to switch on and off components? maybe even let them decide how big these components can be, i.e. how many shouts to display and the size of the shout box. give them a chance to make it their own page! thus allowing them to make it look like the "old skool" version if they want... or increase the number of ajax gizmo gadgets as they see fit.

    how about templates? bring back the old version of last.fm with an "old skool" template, and have the new style as the default. all just a suggestion up for discussion.... then no one will feel left out!

  • The only material difference between the old and new Last.fm profiles is the replacing of the quilts with the Library. You should be able to remove the Library though, in the same way that you could remove the quilts on the old site. There's no need to limit the amount of shouts, since the shoutbox is at the bottom, out of the way.

    I don't see what you mean about widgets though. You can't add or remove them, nor move them about, and everyone's page is the same, so I don't see how they're widgets, just objects on a page.

    the size of the shout box is quite large now, a bit too large, yes it is at the bottom, but that wasn't my choice. i'm suggesting choice, anything wrong with that? i'm making a suggestion. in your opinion the number of shouts is fine, fair call, it's not mine.

    widgets/objects/blings/bits or bobs - who cares, you are missing my point. this is feedback and suggestions forum, configuration is the key here. they have changed the site, it's great in some eyes, but some long standing users are horrified, give them them some config controls for their page and they will be happy,,, you sound happy, so you probably shouldn't even bother contributing to this thread. your experience will remain the same as a default user.

  • first of all,
    i like the new features, especially the "last 7 days top artists" (which used to take ages to be updated).
    but, i'd still keep the original version. i don't like the way it looks now, and it takes a lot from my internet to load the page. everything looks too messed up, too much information in one page. so confusing, hard to find anything. maybe if we had these new features under tabs?
    the option to switch versions should be given to us.

    where have you been? ;)

    there are some things pngs can't fix. for everything else, there's pngoptimizer.
