New Interface

  • Theres too many people complaining about how it looks.
I'm really happy that now theres an option to delete all my mis-tagged scrobbles.
I've been waiting on that one for quite awhile.

  • there is too much scrolling now! and you have to click at least two more times to reach the pages you want.
they will probably fix the loading time problem but there is still the overall problem of functionality.
plus the visual design is just awful...

please give us the possibilty to choose between the new and the old inteface

  • I think last.fm looks and feels way too much like myspace and facebook now - websites which I really, really don't like. What I mean by this is that it is WAY too cluttered. There is so much on the page, I feel like I'm having an information overload.

What I liked about the old design was that it was very simple. You had your weekly plays, your top artists, and top tracks - it was nice.

Now, this partially because I am not used to it yet, but it seems very hard to find what I'm looking for on the page among all the large pictures and colorful images.

An option to use the old design would be really, really nice.

  • Facebook and MySpace have the social networking market cornered. What Last.fm offered was a variation of those sites, set apart for a music loving niche. The new layout effectively destroys everything that made Last.fm special, unique and amazing to the music obsessed audience on the internet. Whereas in the past, I logged on to Last.fm every single day when I was bored to search through profiles, I will undoubtedly hardly ever log in as long as the layout remains the same.

Was this backlash not anticipated? What is the point of beta testing if you aren't going to implement the UNIVERSAL feedback that was given to you then?

  • The beta version seemed much better than this.

    not bad at all

I like the new layout. Good work.
Especially the new tabbed chart-navigation, splendid!
All the whiners just have to get used to something new. People don't like change. They will get over it.

  • the new design is awful!

  • Goodbye last.fm. It was fun while it lasted...

I agree with the majority: New layout is tooo chaotic and blog-like.
    Old layout was nice!

Please, at least make a button to change it back, so it is an option. If that happens, everybody is happy ^^ You don't even need to pay attention to the old one, cause it was near perfection.

I hope the Last.fm team listens to the users, like they listen to their music : With love and attention!

    Peace!

  • The non-cosmetic changes are great, like real-time updates of our lists and recommendation. However, the new layout is crap. Keep the new resources and functions, but allow us to choose our favorite layout.

Keeping the new layout = my last subscription ever. It plainly sucks ass.

  • Tag pages much more functional.

I really like the way the new tag pages are, bonus points because they got wiki, I so wanted to add/see descriptions for some tags and now it's possible..... Yes!!!!!

    example.

I really don't like the new layout at all but I guess I'll have to get used to it..

  • Charts

The new interface has changed the counts on my charts, too. All of a sudden a few of my top artists have about a 100 more plays?

  • PLEASE BRING BACK LAST.fm

This is not Last.fm. It looks like myspace hijacked it. Why? Why? Let's open a poll and vote. You gathered all those playing data from the users. We actively contributed to this site. We should have a say to it. If this does not change I will stop visiting. This is not a threat. This new interface is JUST NOT MY CUP OF TEA.

New interface is horrible and disorganized.

  • Maybe we will all just have to get used to it instead of whining. The library feature is sweet, and, although its a bit weird at the moment, it is a lot cleaner and easier on the eye.

    So shut up.

  • I'm surprised Last.FM staff even listens to you guys, especially cause you can't shell out a measly $3 a month or be polite in your posts.
They have added a lot that past feedback had complained about, so I am sure they will keep improving.
I actually joined two weeks ago and was pretty confused at your BELOVED and SUPERIOR old layout. This one took no longer to figure out.
Go do something better with your time. The Last.fm creators didn't make such a great site by wasting time cursing on forums

  • i wont complain too much, anyway this is a cost-free service and i havent the right to damn you last.fm developers. But in my opinion this is no good result for the work which is behind it. The old Interface was wonderful easy and it was so nice so spend time on last.fm... and now my eyes get hurt. Is it possible to offer the old style too?

  • new design is awful. what a joke. so are there any sites out there that work like last.fm but are actually usable?

Is there any reason why users of Last.fm cannot alter the look of their pages? Just simple things like being able to change the colours used, move the various parts about or hide them.

I am for this 100%. A small spot to put CSS, or simply click and drag. Both would be nice.

Web 2.0 will devour every networking site until someone starts the next trend.

  • I feel a bit bad because I know that the LastFM team probably worked hard on this, but I can't really force myself to like it. So I will complain that I don't like the way it looks (at it's very important to me), that it's not functional, that I don't need 90% of the new features. Really, I won't ever use them.

Maybe I'm odd, but I still use super old versions of Bit Comet or Winamp - simply because they're simple, easy to use, neat and I like them. I don't update anything as long as I don't have to. I'm going to use LastFM even if it doesn't change back to the old one, but I can't say that I won't get annoyed with it in a few weeks/months and leave. That wouldn't be my first time doing it.

I apologize for saying it, but it's like a half-assed present from a hated old aunt...
