automatic romanization of artist names not working

  • automatic romanization of artist names not working

    ^^
Yes, it's checked in my settings (took forever to get that page to actually load - sorry server admins), but all my Japanese artists, whose names are in Kanji, show up in Kanji, which isn't very helpful to me.

I don't understand why you can't edit your files....

Sure, it takes a while, but once your library is edited, then it's easier for you to look things up, no?

I personally speak Japanese, and don't find it a problem. I do find it hard with Chinese and sometimes Korean artists' names, but I find Google comes in handy, and that once I've edited things to my liking in my library, I find no further problems....

Usually when you click on an artists character-name, their description provides the onyomi/pinyin.

I'm sorry, I've never used this feature, but I'm not sure why the problem can't be solved outside of Last.FM...

(Perhaps explaining what it is meant to do, might change my mind...?)

  • I noticed this on beta too. Never got a response.
"Translate foreign artist names to English where possible" is still there in settings but not clickable.
