    back to Itunes radio Scrobbling

Does anyone know if last.fm is scrobbling Itunes radio yet?

  • Nope, I don't think so, but I'd love to have it made possible.

  • I hope it will be implanted in the next scrobbler update

    IDOIT!

  • nice link! But it's just annoying that it isn't built in. Last.fm is simply monopolizing last.fm radio for scrobbles. On iTunes the tags are all there so the scrobbling should be perfectly simple to implement.

TyShkan nice, this works great on OSX.
But there are still some of us how got stuck on windows :(

De sqeezbox thing will work, but still a nice solutions with a scrobbling agent would be the best,

  • Ya... when is this gonna come in the picture? The whole radio scrobbling????

  • I too would love to see this implemented. I cant get the osx app to work for some reason; added the keychain login and allowed acess but still dosnt seem to scrobble.

  • Yes, same here, can't get it to work on OSX

  • pretty retarded that you can't do this after 2 years of demand for it

www.myspace.com/gutterbreaks - cop it or die- tough d&b meets gully breakcore
www.myspace.com/needsmorecowbellmusic -straight up hard funk rock

    Learn your music theory, piss-kidneys!

I would say, this is on the back, back burner right now, as iTunes plus iPod Touch are still having issues and Apple do not seem to care after a year. Why would Lastfm want to start something new with iTunes?

Also, after two years, this topic has almost two pages worth of interest? Seems extremely low priority for members here, IMO.

And yet, it does sound like a nice idea. Guess I am just being a realist.

  • It's a great idea and I really want it but, unfortunately iTunes cannot straighten out their ID tags. It's because, apple cannot get their "stuff" together. They've got an efficient program going on for a while and when it comes to requests it will take a lot of effort for them to actually come through better yet even work on it. So what can I say? You're all S.O.L. and I guess I am too. However, I am sure their is some way to get the music "recorded" and converted for scrobbling. I guess that wouldn't be fair. So all I can say is...

    LAST.FM PLEASE HELP!!!

iTunes Radio Scrobbler - Scrobble your iTunes radio stream (Mac only)

    What is iTunes Radio Scrobbler?
Currently it isn't possible to scrobble the tracks played on an iTunes radio stream (internet radio station).

    Coming soon:
I'm working on a scrobbler and hope to release it in august 2010. It will work for iTunes on Mac (OS X) - Windows support isn't planned yet (perhaps later). The scrobbler is written in AppleScript and Perl and will use the new last.fm scrobbling API 2.0. An integration with Growl (for notifications) is planned.

Looking for testers (Mac OS X):
Are you interested to beta test the scrobbler? If yes, please drop me a line.

    The challenge:
If a radio stream is playing and the streamer provides artist and track name then that information will be scrobbled. Artist and track are required fields for scrobbling. The assumption is that streamers who do provide track information do so in the form "artist - track" (with " - " as separator), which is supposedly standard. Some streamers provide "artist - track - album" or something else. The challenge is to filter this stuff out ...

    Thanks for your support.

I would also really like last fm to implement scrobbling of radio stations from iTunes. But for now I've found a temporary work around for me. To scrobble the station you need:

    1. Look up the url of the station in itunes (right click -> get info -> edit url)
    2. Install Foobar 2000 + foo_audioscrobbler plugin. Just Google it.
    3. Open URL of the radio station in foobar
    4. Profit ! =)

    Hope it helps

    bump for interest

+1 on the idea of radio scrobbling... if Ford can do it....
Even limited support on _some_ stations would show some luv...

Squeezebox works so far, but streaming radio is where tagging becomes the most helpful and should be native to players.

It would be great if last.fm could do this.

However, for the time being, the foobar + plugin method seems to work perfectly
