Raszi asked us to vote on the PS3 blog (thanks).

I've done it. I HOPE EVERYONE WHO WANTS THIS HAS VOTED TOO.....?

We have to tell Sony IN OUR NUMBERS that they are failing to identify their market for PS3 as a media centre. They are clearly too blinkered and stubborn to realise the implications of this.

I have also noted Capt-Howdy's solution and will try it for myself (thanks). The point, though, is that this fairly complex (for many of us) workaround should not be necessary.

  • A bump for this, would be great to get an app for PS#.

Seems no one from SCEE was listening, since they have recently launched Qriocity for the PS3.

A fundamentally flawed concept imho. Epic fail Sony.

If Qriocity doesn't have scobble support in the future then Sony can forget about me even bothering to subscribe.

Also since its on the Xbox, I guess it must be sort of exclusive deal or simply Sony have no desire to do it.

  • I would also love a PS3 feature to scrobble songs

I simply wish they'd do the same thing as they did for the xbox

I imagine it is, actually, quite bloody hard to justify developing and supporting products for what is essentially an out-of-date, *proprietary* web browser.

It's only a forum, no one dies.
  • re qriocity sucks!

well, actually from a wed dev's point of veiw, it would be extemely hard to do. the PS3's browser is locked up tighter then a maximum security prison, AND is heavily out of date as far as web standards are concerned. it has no support for HTML5 (if it did that really would be enough to make it very simple) but HTML5 is rather young and vulnerable, and sonys system is old, and secure. they wont dare risk another breach, remember what happened last time? Then they cut out linux support from the old systems, it wasnt easy, but if you were in linux you COULD, technically dig into low level memory, roms, and that infamous 8th cpu core that sony doesnt even allow game devs access to. then you could hack the whole system wide open, and newer web technologys are a lot like this, think of it like a spiderweb that isnt finished, full of holes, and wont catch any threat. (now im not dissing either HTML5 hell its made my life easier, or sony, i personally own a PS3 and its an amazing system, it just cant, and wont happen)

I do not suffer from insanity,
I enjoy every second of it.
