Scrobbling without shoutcast radio stations from winamp is pointless... A lot of people listens to them more then normal mp3's. Like me :P

I work for a radio station, and believe me most respectable FM stations with HD broadcasts do meticulously tab their music, the only thing that would need to be accounted for would be PSAs, commercials, and other spots which show the artist generally as the station one is listening to. I fully believe that it should be up to user discretion until the 'feature' is ready. Maybe we as users should implement this to one of the winamp plugins or such to spur along the process.

Getting a Little Weary

I want SO BADLY to keep using Last.fm, but with my entire collection residing on my GnuMP3d server, streamed to me at work, it's just not worth it anymore.

PLEASE! Add this ability to the scrobblers. We need a way to track what we REALLY listen to, not just the occasional CD I pop in.

SOLVED!

I was able to enable scrobbling of my online collection!!! :-D

I use GnuMP3d server on my linux box (500 gig drive on the server). It streams my music to work, and I used a WinAmp registry tweak, so music is reported to Last.fm.

Good news (for at least linux users).

I was looking around on the net for any news on this front, and I ended in the amarok chat room. What I found out was that they had got the code in their hand, and they were actually in the midst of implementing it to their new player. People there really got my hopes up. The actual coder commented, that "it's probably out later this week", he was talking about their new version of Amarok. Now I'm not sure if that is the Amarok 2 beta 3, or the actual Amarok 2. Anyways.. all this happened the last week. The reason why it didn't manifest last week, they told that there were some other major updates still under construction. Certainly there's no guarantees, but I guess we could expect something soon anyway.

I brought it up again in their channel. Someone commented there, that beta 3 might come next week, and then another bloke came in and answered to my question about this feature. He doesn't think that it would be featured in the beta 3.

...So just wanted to post here for those that maybe were waiting for their next beta because of this feature.

Keeping online radio out of my charts really sucks as I'm listening to it 80% of the day.

How to Enable Stream Scrobbling in Winamp

Go to:
My Computer/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Audioscrobbler/Winamp-Plugin/

Add a new DWORD key-value pair:
allowhttp=1

(right click, choose New->DWORD. Name it allowhttp, and set the value to 1.)

I can't find it in the registry. I just have a last.fm-folder, and no audioscrobler-folder in the software-path. Anyone who can help me to get this tweak working?

so this thread started a year ago, I listen to last.fm on my MusicPal and am considering a Sonos even cuz I like internet radio (and last.fm streamed) so much. But I hate the fact that I don't get the credit for it -surely important in social networks.

So what's keeping last.fm? I read an argument on one of the first pages that the tags may be inaccurate, and another reader commented that most of these stations have very accurate tagging, like sona fm. I listen to Hot 108 jamz all the time, streamed to my hardware throughout my house, and the tags are perfect.

So what gives!?! Can we get a timeline?

@ seseisan: it can be anywhere in the folders starting with HKEY_ (or all caps) -I work on a company laptop, and there It's under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/last.fm/client/plugins/wa2

But having said that -it doesn't seem to work for me... Help!

have you got the audioscrobbler plugin for winamp installed? I guess you miss that

get it and then do that trick in the registry.... it works indeed!

right, that is a modified version of the old last.fm plugin for winamp; it also used to be available here but I can't find anymore... it might be gone...

I modified the registry and installed that plugin joeblow1102 listed but I still get the error "Couldn't determine song info (no current song) - check file is tagged. Song will not be submitted"

any help? do I need a different plugin or version of winamp? I'm currently running 5.5

I have the same problem as fungi
could it maybe be a problem from the radio stations?
the two I tried didn't work... could anyone of you give the link from a station they were able to scrobble from?
at least this way I'd know for sure where the problem is...

Trying with WA v5.35 and your DLL (1.1.11p7-DrO INTERNAL TEST)
Log says Couldn't determine song info (no current song) - check file is tagged. Song will not be submitted
and no luck :-(
